RE: ok young sir Attendances - all three are lower than ours Fanbase - all three are above us in the league but have smaller attendances Honours Won - Preston and Burnley haven't won owt since 1960, Plymouth have never won owt History - Preston and Burnley pre 60s, Plymouth have none None of them have been in the Premier League I bet their record transfer fees are all lower than ours All three have been in the bottom division this century I think
RE: looking at their gates ... not at their backers We have one source of money other teams have money coming in from different sources within the club.
well TBH you cannot really say non have been in the premier league as its just the old 1st Division with a snazzy new name to get the Spin Doctors going for Sky.... and if you admit that then sorry both Burnley and Preston HAVE been there. Plymouth deffo not, and they only get half decent gates due to the huge military presence their just like Portsmouth.
what do mean ONE source, if you mean gates then sorry no, Patrick has ploughed loads in.Also Barnsley Council tipped up a healthy slice If you remember...so how is this one source
RE: well TBH you cannot really say non have been in the premier league as its just the old 1st Divis No, I meant in the modern era which according to Sky Sports is from 1992! Not many posters on here will be old enough to remember either team in the top flight but most can remember us there
sorry James but this "modern Era" lark does not wash with almost ALL football fans its the entire history of football,if not then we can forget about Barnsley winning the FA Cup in 1912. More recently why not wipe away the Winning of the World Cup by England in 1966.
RE: what do mean ONE source, if you mean gates then sorry no, Surley Barnsley Council was more of an investment of keeping league football for their community, Patrick has spent a fortune saving the club and keeping it going. To compare us to the list of Prem teams we need investment on the playing side of things, do you expect Patrick to bank roll that?
you mean just like those other clubs benefactors do. well why not. If not then just announce that we have a club to be grateful for, but its not going to be any better than 3rd or 4th tier standards of football.
rotheram tyke ur wasting ur breath ,good post agreed with all u said but the bottom line is sackin the boss will not help,he is trying to fetch players in its not his fault the club as a cap on wages, looks good about misfud which surprises me as he will get a better deal when hes a free agent,i was not happy about the first half against ipswich,he doesnt fill me with great confidence with his substitutions ,but he as a great knack of bringing in good players cheap as well as bad players even ferguson makes misstakes, hes still learnin as a manager but god help us if we sack another manager,we ave to keep patience they were screamin for his head in the first half against donny ,keep the faith for **** sake its not doom and gloom yet
On site link posted on here yesterday, there were 49 Managers that were looking for work and you can say with some certainty that not one of them would be any better than Davey and that if they were, they wouldn't come here. I don't know what kind of work you do but if it doesn't involve a crystal ball or Tarot cards, you are definitely in the wrong job.
