I'm sure there are a few other Posters on here

...would agree with you.... I never met him - but that was back in the day when I didn't go into Whispers as much as some folks on here, and I didn't drink either (well, not much)

    RE: Alan "Animal" Little

Without doubt the hardest footballer I ever saw in a Reds shirt (or any other shirt for that matter). Once remember him winning a 50-50 tackle and the opposition player seemed to somersault twice before he hit the ground! No mean player though and scored some memorable goals.
Gwynn Thomas wasn't far behind and was at his peak at the time that dirty barsteward Roberts crocked him.
Is it me or was football a far better spectacle for spectators when it was actually a contact sport?

    It wasn't Graham Roberts

I know it has gone down in Barnsley folklore as being Roberts, but it wasn't.

It was Darren Wood that cricked Thomas, NOT Roberts.

Darren wood owns 2 stalls on Barnsley market now! Plus 1 at Sth Elmsall and 2 at Castleford market.
I worked for the company that was bought by him. Gave him some grief about the Thomas incident, he still says it was a legitimate challenge.
