    I was at all of those games and remember Toby JUG being paraded around the track. Southport were flying high at the top of the Fourth Division and had Fryatt at centre forward who was a top scorer. But we had the two saviours Thomas and Evans to inspire us and continue the revival which saw an end to our struggling in front of two of three thousand. There were over 11,000 for the Southport game and Barrie Thomas scored twice.
