Gally, On the subject of investment: Has there been any meaningful discussions with regards to investment? What have we done to date and how is the process being managed? Has PC engaged advisors to actively seek investment?
Have the club any plans to improve the match day experience? Apart from the reasonably good standard of play we are currently seeing on the pitch, the rest of the oakwell experience can only be classed as poor to awful and there's no wonder most folks roll in at 5 to 3.
What are the expectations now for the rest of the last season? and are there any plans to strengthen the squad.
What are the clubs thoughts on a cheap season ticket for next seasons 125 anniversary? And what about this seasons FA Cup Centenary campaign? What have they got planned for that? And please god dont let him say the 1912 scheme...
Could the club do more to attract bigger crowds? I know this has been discussed to death, but it's down to the club to promote their product. Offering 3 tickets for 60 quid is all well and good, but how about doing cheap (20 quid) family tickets for an adult and a kid at a game that's typically a lower crowd. Use an area of the ground that's often empty (West Lower/North Stand by the East for example). 20 quid and two people through the turnstiles is better than no-one in and an empty ground. Chances are, They'll come back. It's be fairly straightforward to enforce a you-must-be-with-a-kid rule, too if it was in a specific section of the ground.
How about something like season tickets for £125 if so many people commit to having one, i have no idea how many we would need to make this viable but it would be great to have a full oakwell again. Similar schemes appear to have worked well at Huddersfield and Bradford it must be worth a try
Its been asked and Don wouldn't give a figure on how many we would need to sell at that price to match this season's season ticket income, he just said its too risky....like a politician answering a question.
Yeah he just took the easy way out by not answering the question. Anyone with the slightest bit of inteligence can see that the 125 quid season ticket offer has no risk at all. It's 100% risk free for the club as they will make the same or more income no matter how many tickets are sold. The risk is only with the fans who would want as many as possible to buy one to make this offer happen.
Are there enough seats for us to make the same money as this season if we offer £125 for ST's? If we sell all 16000 ST's at £125 we get £2m. This season we have sold, let's say 6500 ST's (to allow for free kids) at an average £300, that is about £2m. Then we are faced with no match day ticket sales all season from the home support, that is what we would lose out on. Like Don says, it is a risk.
7,500 STs including the kids, an average OAP ST price is £205, student price £145 & juveniles £140, brings the £2 million down some.
Re: Loan signings or no loan signings Are there any plans to offer Luke Steele & Jim O'Brien new deals? Will the answers be posted on here, Gally?
Re: Loan signings or no loan signings Whats his views on our 2 year contract offers? we have lost key players recently for little money because they have come to the end of short contracts, would we be better offering our better players 3 or 4 year deals thus ensuring a bigger transfer fee when they do go or aren't we in a position financially to do this. I've got a sweat on.
Re: Loan signings or no loan signings Longer contracts works out well sometimes. We risk losing JOB for nothing in the summer. If Craig Davies keeps knocking them in, next summer he will be in the shop window with clubs knowing he's only 12 months left.
