Despite evidence to the contrary, as already pointed out. Milliband was as un controversial a candidate as it was possible to be, yet the Mail and Sun monstered him anyway. but you just ignore evidence that doesn’t suit. pointing out facts isn’t bullying, and no amount of you pretending you’re being picked on makes you a victim.
If you want an example of how the RWM try and influence their readers, a mate sent me a link to the Mail's website shortly after Corbyn's half-hour) ended last night. The headline was(and this is paraphrasing as I can't remember the exact wording) "Corbyn booed massively by QT Audience for Revealing He Will NEVER Reveal His Stance On Brexit". Now, come on. No matter which way your political allegiances lay, you can not interpret what he said last night as him refusing to say which side of the fence he is.
Corbyn is taking the correct route in this. He is trying to bring remain and leave together and negotiate a deal which we must have and then let the people decide if we accept the deal or stay in the EU. In a second referendum the people will actually know what they are voting for not the "Vote Black or White" referendum. A precedent for remaining neutral was set by Harold Wilson.
Wow! I’ve been nothing but positive about what Jeremy Corbyn and labour will bring, you asked me 2 weeks ago and I gave you exactly that, strangely there was no comeback bar an acknowledgment. I wonder why, I really do wonder why. I make no apology for using the word idiot in this instance. If you or anything thinks brexit is done on the 31st January then idiot is the right word. Boris Johnson is playing to the gallery of stupidity. If you or again anyone else wants to get angry about that or disagree I don’t care, it’s true, leave ur remain it doesn’t matter. Corbyn was impressive last night, he always is. A fully costed socialist manifesto was presented which will benefit this country. For that many.
They’re not even radical, they’re only radical as they turn the tide. their proposed huge spending spree would put us about half way up the spending table for Europe. we have some of the lowest corporate taxes and subsequent low spending. But any large move from the status quo looks ‘radical’.
The problem is it's taken over three years to get there. My take on it is that it's finally been realised ...after the first debate, that repeating the process multiple times without saying what your personal position is had become untenable, particularly with only weeks to go....and the same position would be probed at every single opportunity. He has now adopted Wilson's pragmatic position in 1975, it will be far less harmful electorally than having to endure the embarrassment of the first debate.
I hope that my post last night made it clear that I am disgusted with the whole shebang. You as a Labour Party supporter want to set apart your leader and elevate him above the rest. I cannot blame you for wanting to do that if you truly believe in him. However, to my eyes he seems totally unable to lead, and that is in essence what leadership is all about. This time, for the first time, I have no idea who I am going to vote for. They are all up to their necks in a sticky, smelly mess. How has the country gotten itself into this state.
I think the issue is that papers like the sun, mail, express etc have done a great job on Corbyn and some people have swallowed it lock stock and barrel
for a man who is usually so analytical you appear to be taking a very emotional view on this. As usual cast your vote according to your principles and view as to who will best improve your life.
Labour’s strategy on brexit is the one May should have pursued 3 years ago instead she decided to pander to racists. Negotiate Norway + and put it back with that deal v remain. As PM do not campaign for either side as you will need to implement the decision
As sturgeon said most of those policies are already in place in Scotland so not overly ambitious at all
Yet another brilliant example of why joining political threads on here is a total waste of time. If you are not 110% behind the current Labour regime, you are just dismissed as thick or the subject of abuse.!
The EU Referendum got us in to this state, came about simply to try and save and fulfil political career aspirations. It aided the rise of the Tory right- wing. You talk about leadership, or lack of, in the case of Corbyn, but do you really believe Johnson leads. He is a buffoon who’s woeful political shortcomings are often and extensively covered and defended by people of his ilk
Donny, the left wing press attack the right and vice versa. And don't make me laugh by speaking about ignoring evidence. As for the unnecessary name calling it just makes you look daft flower, we can have opposing views without you having to resort to it. Grow up.
The Issue is there are far more Right Wing rags than left wing ones. One is particularly powerful because it used to have women with their jugs out on page 3, which attracted Neanderthal brain dead nutters who hate foreign people. The perfect storm. The one vote that counts in any election is Rupert Murdoch. He votes and that’s what happens.
