Journo tweeted Ben Whiteman close to signing for us - not sure how reliable he is though....

Ideally you need to signing players before the season starts I know it,s not always possible.

If Mowatt doesn't sign a new contract shortly I can see him gone in this window as it's the best chance we've got of getting anything for him.

I always thought that(like a lot of others), but the squad numbers released the other day had nearly half of them as youngsters, that are unlikely to get much of a look in, thats too many IMO. Lose a couple of key players through injury or form and we look bare.

Assuming we don't sell any of the first team squad regulars, I'd hazard a guess we'll bring in a left sided defender, another midfielder and one more striker. If we do lose any more first teamers, I'd expect them to be replaced.

It feels like it's been reasonably quiet across the Championship clubs. So we're not that much of an outlier so far. And there's a long way yet to go.

If it’s quiet by the end of the transfer window - then the risk is that we are near the bottom or deep in it.

We need a LB a striker and a centre midfield.

If we don't sell anybody else, I'm not sure a striker would be particularly high priority. We have Woodrow, Brown, Chaplin, Schmidt, Frieser, Miller, VA and possibly even Halme. Plus Simoes and Thomas who played the 10 role last season.

I think someone who can play LB / Left of a back 3 would be a priority, followed by a defensive midfielder (preferably with a right foot). Trouble is, it's difficult to get players out.

Given that from the onset of lockdown to seasons end, clubs in our league have not been able to generate
income from attendances, many have have had a struggle to pay staff and Players and
day to day running costs ,it is quite understandable that activity in the transfer market is very slow.

I don't know for certain, but with the threat of points deduction for breaching FFP, I doubt there are many if any
are willing to try and buy their way to the Premiership by signing players they really can't afford. As a result, I
honestly feel that the 2020 window has all the makings of the quietest one ever as far as transfers are concerned.
Conversely loans and the signing of players on free transfers could well be the preferred route for many.
