Am not sure they weren’t trying. But they started to get people into the box more at 3-0. No idea why we weren’t doing that before
I read it more as "3-0 lads, let's stop listening to what that pillock tells us to do and show the fans what we can do if he isn't dragging us down"
I was just about to say something similar. Maybe 0-3 in a local derby made them say 'sod this, let's do it our way now'.
Yet, he seems to survive it. Hopefully the club can see that the problems with Schopp go beyond issues with losing back room staff or not having his assistants with him.
We need a big passionate likeable character who likes to organise, and bleeds for the club. A very experienced bloke from the Tarn got the sack yesterday.
If he survives this then he’s here for the season. First 70 minutes were awful, but much the same as what we’ve seen previously. Then we clicked into gear and got going. Now it makes sense why!
I’d be against that normally as I’m not one for taking managers who have regularly failed elsewhere recently. But we’re severely lacking throughout the football club. Someone like Mick could at least bring something to the whole setup. So disillusioned I’d take anything right now, but if did go down the MM route and he accepted it (which I don’t think he would), I’d do it as a one season contract and nothing more. Sort us out and move on.
Mick wouldn’t want to come into an atmosphere as poisonous as it is at the moment. He would recognise that he was being used as a fig leaf to hide the blushes of the 80% mob.
if he could find us some good backroom staff with links to the area who could stay that would be even better.
A bit like when Walton decided to ignore Struber's tactic of passing it a few feet to Anderson and just whack it up the pitch instead.
Last night I was of the mind to stay away from Mick. He's a legend, but we're in a relegation scrap. Taking away the home town bias, he's got to be a contender. Only other guy I could think of who'd get us out of this is Warnock.
He'd be a great short term solution with all his contacts and knowledge of the championship, Then see where the land lies next summer.
