RE: no Personally, I think the original comment, whatever it was intended to acieve, strikes a blow for freedom of speech in an age where you appear to have to research the possible implications of your words before uttering them. I can remember when the odd jocular remark here and there lightened an atmosphere rather than create it. It certainly didn't invite the Spanish Inquisition.
How much clearer would you like it to be? </p> His hatred of Pakistanis has developed out of his experiences as a tenant of Pakistani-owned properties. </p>
Yes, it was a generalisation. </p> Two in fact. The first one being the basis behind his reasoning. Whether you agree that he's in a position to make the judgement or not he had explained the basis for it.</p>
oh right, he didn't say that. He said that you made repairs quicker than the pakistani landlords he'd had in the past (2? possibly 3 at a push?) and then in another sentance he said that he hated "pakis". I didn't realise that he was saying he hated the entire race based on the actions of a handful of england based landlords.
Yes, that's what he was saying except that.... </p> .....to be fair he's been a migrant worker for a long time now and has worked throughout Europe as well as the UK. Maybe he should have said, "I hate Pakistani landlords" or "I hate all the Pakistani landlords I've rented from. I bet the rest are alright though."</p>
They catch on quick these Polish tenants,I bet he has a picture of an Alsatian dog on the sideboard and plays riverdance music everytime you come round.Has he asked for a T-shirt yet ?
