RE: Nope So why was Conkotykes friend right then? After that post by glynnfuddy you put that conkotykes mate was right. What did you mean then?
His mate didn't say all Barnsley was racist He said it might not be safe to come here. And judging by glynnfuddy's disgusting remarks his fears are probably well founded.
Agreed. Totally mis informed cr@p I have been out in Brixton many times with out any issues whatsoever. A lot safer than Barnsley town centre most of the time There are of course places in London I wouldnt go out alone but Brixton isn't one of them. Please dont give examples you haven't personally experienced
RE: Agreed. Totally mis informed cr@p Read westies post below then. Yes i have been to Brixton so don't you presume to think otherwise. Admitedly without incident, but then again didn't hang around for long as i didn't feel comfortable
RE: His mate didn't say all Barnsley was racist Conkotyke said his friend would not feel safe. I don't recall glynnfuddy saying anything that would point towards violence to another race
He said he got angry just from seeing a family out on their daily business If your very presence provokes anger in a person are you really likely to feel safe?
RE: He said he got angry just from seeing a family out on their daily business I don't think he said he displayed any signs of anger, i took it to mean he felt angry. I get really angry when i hear all the young chavs swearing and pushing older people out of the way in town, but i don't attack them and i'm sure that they don't feel unsafe because i'm around. All 5ft 1 and 7st of me!!
He said he got angry. He called them disgusting names. He is filled with hate And that's towards a woman and her children who hadn't provoked him in any way other than being "sponging paki basterd". How would you feel as a white woman if you'd been out with your kids in a town and you read that a man of a different race had seen you and had been sent into a rage? Would you feel safe?
RE: He said he got angry. He called them disgusting names. He is filled with hate I didn't read in his post that it had sent him into a rage. I understand where you are coming from and the phrase he used was not to my taste. As i posted yesterday me and my sister were verbally abused by a gang of black lads at Birmingham away in the play-offs, right in front of the coppers. It made me feel like i wanted to get out of there and quick. I also said i wonder what would have happened if i'd turned round and called them black something or others, as they called me and my sister white bitches for ignoring their lewd comments. As for going to the police, believe me they heard it, other fans did in the same area and asked if we were ok. I just wanted to get home rather than bother with the police as they cannot have failed to hear what was said and did not intervene
It must be right then ....!!! Give me Brixton over late night Barnsley any night - in fact give me the majority of places over late night Barnsley... it's like a cesspit with a violent froth
RE: Go on then why did you feel un comfortable? nt O dear 2 of you ganging up on me now! I was staying at my friends who at the time lived at Kennington (i think, or something sounding similar) we went to see some of her friends who then took us into Brixton for something to eat. When walking back to the car i found the stares and silences of a couple of gangs as we walked past very menacing. It was like they were checking us out as potential muggung victims or god knows what. With the reputation that Brixton has to outsiders it was frightening. That was my perception of the situation so don't bother questioning it as that was how i felt
Why would I question it. If thats how you felt I can understand it My point is more, that's how some people feel walking through Barnsley town centre, particularly if they encounter people like glynnfuddy And you cant question that because its how they feel
RE: I dont get the point you are trying to make Kanecat nt My point was that Jay was of the opinion that due to glynnfuddys post Conkotykes friend was right to not come to Barnsley. I was pointing out that even though glynnfuddys post wasn't very pleasant the way it was worded, he did not threaten violence towards other races
But he did make it clear why people would feel uncomfortable The same way you did in Brixton and have chosen not to return there
RE: Why would I question it thats how you felt I can understand it Can i have proof of that's how these people felt please (excluding Conko's mate). Only joking. Sometimes i feel that if anyone says anything on here that goes against the P.C brigades way of thinking you are torn to bits and are given a severe inquisition. That's my thoughts & feelings so don't question it
