It did happen, 5 minutes into the game. Fortunately it was only sung once, but it wasn't just one or two singing, large proportion of Ponte nearest the East Stand were singing.
I agree Just stating that the song gets sang at every bradford match no matter who they are playing Doesn't make it right at all but every club as racists including us Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm glad we are sat at the other side of the Ponty, because I heard it, but it only lasted 30 seconds or so. Gladly, as my little girl doesn't know all the chants yet, she didn't pick up on it and ask me what they were singing and I was saved an explanation that some football fans are racist. I'd already had to explain to her that some football fans are thugs, when I had to explain to her why she couldn't come to Port Vale with me (the trouble there was somewhat inevitable). But what kind of a world do we live in when people are chanting things like this in 2014.
It was only sung by a few for a short time and ignored by most which stopped it as quick as it started. Not good but someone who works with Eastern Europeans and finds hard to understand how this site can go from the Asos thread to racist chant without taking into account that extremism and prejudice will give rise to many extreme views i think it is easy to take the moral high ground rather than question the populist view.
It was f@cking embarrassing at best. Makes you want to cringe really. There's some tw@t at it on the n power league 1 banter page on facebook too.
'Town full of *******'s, your just a town full of *******'s' was sung at least twice. Sounded more like close to 100 folk from where I was sat, not just a half dozen idiots. Shame on those that joined in.
Moved into the East Stand this season. My temper couldn't take the racism anymore that the stewards choose to ignore. I told a few to shut up last season. It saddens me really
I actually found it quite encouraging. I heard a few idiots start singing it & thought 'for **** sake here we go' but then it was quickly drowned out by another chant. No one wants to hear that but you'll always get a few morons, it's unavoidable so I'd rather focus on the positive that was that the majority of the Ponty end refused to join in & that it only happened once
Ye. I know a lad who was about 14 at the time & he joined in the chant with some older lads to fit in. The next thing he & the older lads got 4 year banning orders & were named & shamed in the chron. This was after a Bradford game in the mid-2000's I think
It was. It lasted seconds. And was soon drowned out. It's being built up a bit too much for what it was.
It's not just those chanting it. Plenty of fans who didn't join in the chant were giggling and laughing at it being sung, thus condoning it.
Instead of complaining on this forum about it why doesn't the rest of the ponty, or wherever racist chants are heard, why doesn't the rest of the crowd drown them out with booing, or someother chant - surely this would say more than anything else?
