Dunno where I was sat row wise, but it was nowhere near my allocated ticket thankfully. A guy on the row in front enjoyed nothing better than spending all game moaning at *insert player*, stewards, police, ref, linesman, home fans etc.
I thought we may have moved on and finally got rid of this appalling racist chanting, however having been to the game and constantly having to listen to a load of racist abuse its spoils the match, when will these idiots realise this and either shut up or stop going, some of these people were older adults as well.
RE: I Heard No Racist Chanting Today Well if you heard no racist chanting I can only assume you were in the bog having a large dump for the first half an hour of the game - it was VERY noticable. What also grates on me in the fact that the scab chants come out every time we go anywhere within 50 miles of Nottingham. It may just be me but I don't recall large numbers of leicestershire miners going back to work. In fact, I don't recall large numbers of leicestershire miners. Or leicestershire pits for that matter. Still, why let facts get in the way of a boring old chant. (blagger)
RE: I Heard No Racist Chanting Today The chants must have happened reight at the back, where the people kept getting thrown out. I agree about the scab chanting though. It's very boring, people should move on and most of the people chanting it are too young to have a clue what it's about. Another gripe is how our fans stand up and get told it's a criminal offence and to sit down, but it's alright for them to have dozens stood by the fat mess drummer. Rules should apply to all and NOT just the home team.
RE: scab chants what really boils my piss is that most of those chanting about scabs were probably still in nappies at the time and the people they are chanting at no doubt don't understand the significance of it all either. (doh) Muppets the lot of em.
I was sat in DD and I heard it load and clear. " I'd rather be a paki than a scab"... I think that some of these morons don't realise the way that many groups and individuals in the Asian community dug deep to help the miners during the strike. First away game i have been to this season and I must say they behaviour of some of our fans as left me with a bitter taste.
...................so then, it's OK to shout fat Barsteward to their drummer for 90 minutes and you won't get ejcted for that - yet if you abbreviate Pakistan to 'Paki' then you deserved to get thrown out of the ground??!! What a crazy world we live in. :'(
No - but neither does it mean the person saying it is a racist. Neither does shouting at the drummer fat Barsteward means they are questioning the drummers fatherhood. Neither does shouting dee dah ****** mean you know for definite people from Sheffield practice onanism. It used to be called fooball banter - and was deemed acceptable by both the recipitents and the originatorsie you gave as good as you got - prior to the intervention of the nanny state. Why does Aussie imply endearment then and Paki doesn't?
i think you know why strange anyway because at oakwell the club policy is to eject people who shout racist abuse. i suggest the club have got it correct and that you need to grow up rather than defending the morons who chanted yesterday. banters ok , but unfortunately people like you do not know what real banter is , and use the phrase as an excuse.
why do you constantly make your threads political the racist behaviour by a section of our fans today was disgusting, i think we all agree on this board about that. But why do you always have to make your comments politcal? what on earth do the BNP have to do with todays football game? when i read your posts i have to ask myself if this is a football forum or a politcal chatroom
To be fair to Dreamboy I was sat on the same row as him (which was near the front) and I only heard the chants he mentioned.
RE: Was he sat in front of me? That would be him. More entertaining than the match for the most part. Is he a member on here?
