Yh, fair point that, but same across whole squad when comparing wages. I'd still reckon they were among our highest earners.
I don't know what then because I don't know if there is anybody out there willing to step in but I also know that sooner rather than later the board will run out of money the chairman alluded to that in the interview yet refuses to do things differently. So we as a fan base are stuck between a rock and a hard place do we kick off and they walk leaving the club in deep trouble or do we sit on our hands and watch on until the inevitable happens and the money runs out and the club is in deep trouble. I would rather the chairman realise he needs to sell up and actively seek new owners or at least new investors because something has to change and quickly.
I reckon it was obvious from the interview that they intend to implement changes to the strategy. But time will tell. I hope this is just the first step in their attempts to better engage with the fanbase. Even if you can’t agree with them, much rather they be present and communicate.
Thanks for the reply. I do like reading your thoughts especially with having more of an insight over the years of the day to day running of the club. I read your initial prognosis as tho you couldn’t see anything wrong in what he said. He’s happy with Sormaz which is fair enough but that’s not what the fans want to hear. Most want Sormaz gone. Me included. He says we have a top 4 team. You suggest we could have possibly finished 6th yourself at a push. Your opinion of course……most on here (me included) suggest it’s mid table at best. I thought top 12 pre season personally but wouldn’t make playoffs. Main reason was losing over 30 goals and not replacing them. I’d say Neerav is deluded by thinking this. We are losing 700k a month. Again….not something we want to hear. Why are they losing that amount….its absurd. He wants to play attacking football and that’s one of the reasons Clarke has gone. They’ve employed 2x managers since Duff and won 7x home league games in a calendar year across 2x seasons. He’s sacked 2x managers already in his tenure. One of them going into a playoff campaign both being replaced by interim appointments. All this going in season renewal time. I’ve missed a lot lot more off but it’s late and I can’t be arsed listening to it again. Not once have they admitted they could possibly be at fault which is far too plain and obvious to see. I wanted to hear that they had possibly got a lot wrong and made mistakes and try so hard to rectify them next season. What I didn’t expect was what he actually said in that he still believes in the data and Sormaz who works so hard. I’m glad he’s done the interview but astonished at what he said. The fans are mad because although he’s come out and done the interview…..it sounds as tho he sees nothing wrong with how the club is being run and the people who are helping him run it. We can see it. We’ve watched it and we hate it. The bloke is deluded mate. He needs proper football people in the club who have actual experience in running the bloody thing. Neerav is being advised by the wrong people.
If he's so big on stats he'll know that in our last 56 league games (58 if you include the play-offs) we've kept just 7 clean sheets. Of those 7, 5 have been against bottom 4 teams, and the other 2 both against a poor Rotherham team. So we haven't kept a clean sheet against a team in the top half of the table in well over a season of football and in fact have only kept a clean sheet against one team above the relegation zone in well over a year. If that's a top 3 or 4 team then I'm the next James Bond. How delusional can anyone be to not get that, Robbo when fully fit apart, all the defenders they have brought in are abject dross, particularly at defending! Five or six decent ones could easily have been afforded, with change, instead of the scattergun low quality, eleven or twelve plus that have been brought in, often from teams that were relegated conceding plenty of goals in the process. It's made my mind up for me. For the first time in my life the love affair with my team is superceded by the over-riding dullness of the prospect of further costly treks to watch players so far out of their depth and inept at their principal duty as the French semi-pro league lad number 6 who lost his man for their first again last week and collapsed flat on his backside for the second.
OK for arguments sake let's say they were on 2.5k then half of what he's quoted so it's 300k a year for both instead of each, that's a difference of 300k a year, it's hardly comparative to 6.75m we recieved, our wage bill last year was 5.5m for the entire squad. Wages are wages, we have a limit we pay, I've no issue with that but when someone is categorically over egging things to try and make people think 6.75m has been reinvested in the squad, come on pull the other.
Maybe. But the board's expectations were higher than most fans' this season by the sounds of it... And this is what is happening, we're slowly being fed bits of information and being manipulated into just being grateful to have a club - just because they're bankrolling losses that are their own doing!
Here we go, name calling for having a different take on things. Also no mention of those that accuse the board of ‘robbing’ the club, you know the song the numpties sing
I don’t see it as manipulating people into being grateful just for having a club, nor am I happy with the way things are currently.
whatever method they are currently using it is failing catastrophically yet the chairman thinks the DoF is doing a good job. When Cryne was signing players at least he went for quality over quantity and signed the best players he could for the money we had and signed the players that the club needed to improve the team / squad. The current model has given us the poorest most unbalanced squad I've seen for years.
I honestly think we're being made to feel grateful to them, when it's a mess of their own creation (along with their predecessors obviously). Gross negligence of the highest order to be running at the losses we are.
I've never said they are robbing the club but I have said they are running it badly and been hammered on here for doing so. Ive pointed out that they have pumped millions into the club and taken it backwards
I didn’t say you had, I said you name calling ( @rse kisses) for those that don’t share your view but no mention of those that accuse them of robbing the club
Maybe he means something completely different lol. That's like saying Hourihane and Devaney will both be at the Lg One Play off Final, at Wembley, this season. Which actually means... somebody has got to flip the burgers and serve the ketchup & mustard!.
I think that ship has sailed. I’m not sure when we will get back, more of an ‘if’ these days. The signals were there when we went from promotion contenders to nailed on relegation in one season step. I admire the owners commitment, financing of the club and passion. But to be brutally honest, we need someone who knows how to build a football club strategy and take us forwards. The best scenario for me was a new owner, in charge, committed to developing the club and performances, builds an organisation with more footballing experience. Neerav can stay as an owner and board member but take a contributor role. Of course this is (Very) wishful thinking
