I'm in no way defending what the chairman has said, which is largely nonsense.

 

Unless they offer him stupid wages, Duff would be a mug to come back. There is such a deficit of talent in the squad compared to when we initially hired him.

 

I would ask Danny Wilson to be director of football as he effectively built the 2016 team more or less? Knowledge & connections.

I wonder, in percentage terms, what proportion of his wealth is he contributing to the club in comparison to the average supporter buying season tickets etc. At least he gets a say. Not sure what we are getting other than paying for blind loyalty.

 

Aside the batsh1t summary of how they think things are going, who the chuff does he think we’ll sell ? We have one player (DKD) rest aren’t worth two thirds of three fifths of Sod all and wouldn’t be missed.

When Neerav asks why we're not doing as well as everyone hoped, whether it's player recruitment or the coaching and team selection, and the person he's asking is head of recruitment, there's only going to be one answer.

 

It's like anything really in the workplace.

When the gaffer asks who broke the photocopier in the office, you don't own up yourself, you blame that bloke Darrell with the baseball cap.

 

I agree with YT in that I’m glad he’s done the interview.

I was astonished at what he said tho.

All we wanted to hear was that they’d made mistakes and would try so hard to rectify them next season.

Most would accept that.

We never got that. Instead we got the delusion that he’s still going to use the same data model with the same person in charge (Sormaz) who is doing a cracking job btw. That isn’t, what I or probably others expected to hear.

All he had to say is “yes, we’ve got it wrong this season and next season we will try so hard to get us to where we want to be as we now know what we lack in certain areas.”

Instead we got the drivel that it was the managers fault, we have a top 4 squad and are losing 700k a month with a forecast to lose between 8-10m next season but fear not……Mladen will still be here using the same data technique next season.

And when the time comes that they’re going to stop putting money into the club and it’s probably not that far away then what ?

 

This season makes a lot more sense when you listen to that interview.

 

Genuinely don't know where we go from here. we all kno the squad is bloated and lacks quality, Any new appointment as Head Coach is already being dictated to about the style and direction the club will go in so rule out any Coach who thinks they'll have a say. The fanbase is already making noises about drifting away from the club and you get the feeling if anyone offers a half decent bid for any of our players they'll be gone. Despite all this we listen to an interview that basically says we're in terrific shape...speechless and just a little afraid for the future.

 

When Duff first came to the club, players were leaving - in most of his early press conferences he talked about waiting to see what players he had left in the building and working with them. He turned it around brilliantly.

Ultimately a PR disaster this interview. I would have thought he would have at least made some observations in what makes a decent team on the pitch eg champ play offs, league one play offs and put 2 & 2 together to identify a successful team. Clearly shows his unwillingness to observe reality to put it kindly.
