I've been calling Neerav, JAQ and co out since last summer and I've been attacked on here for doing so. They are doing an absolutely **** job of running this club. How they've allowed us to get into such a financial mess is utter disgrace. We must be paying Rodrigues £10k+ per week
That interview was hardly a rousing soundbite to the fans to fill them with optimism for next season. Quite the contrary in actual fact. If we're going to be using this wonderful data that found us the likes of Lembikisa & Rodrigues in January, along with selling our better players (DKD & Phillips). I can only see a season of struggle next season.
Never read as much rubbish in my life absolutely clueless. Then mention we may have to revert to old model selling players well that tells me come summer Davis keillor Dunn will definetky be sold
I don’t agree with the guy but at the same time I’m petrified he will walk away . Because without the current board pumping in money to keep us a float we are well and truly doomed . I get from this interview he’s not prepared to do it much longer which worries me massively
It’s terrifying that he’s getting fed this nonsense & is buying it. The data one is scary, does he not realise that even though the data might show you have some good footballers that they actually have to fit into a system? Or that to get the best out of your top players you have to have players that complement them? The annoying thing is it’s the people at the club who are choosing to lose millions. Most fans are complaining that they’re sacking managers & having such a bloated, unbalanced squad. Don’t complain to us that you’re chosen to lose millions. That’s on you & the people you have appointed.
Very well put. You could have a top rated batch of musicians in an orchestra. But if nearly everyone plays a clarinet and only one knows what to do with the strings, there won't be many symphonies you can play.
I agree, and although it seems I am obsessed about the income (direct or instalment) of our recent golden alumni - Mads, Kitching, Collins et al - did any of the above clubs sell anything like that sort of talent in recent years? Did any of them get anywhere near our crowds in recent times (OK, they'll probably beat us between now and May)? Do they get anything like the commercial income we get? (I genuinely don't know). BUT. Are all of them managing to cope without anything like £700k a month being pumped in?
Something certainly needs to change because visiting Oakwell, for me anyway, has become such a miserable experience that I honestly can’t face it any more. Based on my attendance this season, I would struggle to justify buying the flexi-ticket let alone the full version that I have been buying since 1992. Sad rather than angry, and I think that’s the worst of the two.
Whatever metrics we’re using to class this squad as a top four squad are totally wrong. I genuinely don’t see us progressing until we realise it isn’t otherwise we’ll do more of the same. I don’t mind the board asking the fans to have a bit of realism but I’d expect it from the boardroom too.
This exactly. It makes no sense at all. Our crowds are about to drop dramatically so it would appear we’re destined for oblivion if this interview is anything to go by. They couldn’t have made a worse job of running the club if they’d tried. Unbelievable.
He needs to look at Duffs squad which was a top 4 squad and then look at what we’ve got now and only DKD gets in it , we are about where most of us expected us to finish around tenth and have never looked like a top four team all season.
I picked up on that. Exactly the point I was trying to make in a thread last week but was told I was an idiot by a certain poster.
Imho....a few things stand out there. Firstly we are blindly going about business with little or no knowledge of what constitutes to a top four squad....we are no where near that. Secondly we do NOT have the complement of players to play fast attacking football. Thirdly it sounds like he wishes to appoint a proper coach in the summer. I admire him for coming out to speak to the media and the questions were fair and well presented.. The whole thing smacks of "The emperor wears no clothes"....he needs to smell the coffee and listen to the fan base.
Yep as much as he's getting it wrong he putting millions of his own money in and getting abuse for it. He would be mad to carry on really.
