Have I misunderstood this then: Despite the higher turnover, administrative expenses increased by 8.6% from £9.3million to £10.1million resulting in an increased loss of just below £3million compared to £2.6million last year. https://www.weareimps.com/news/lincoln-city-accounts-202324
Companies House for the period to 30 June 2024 shows Turnover £7m, wages £6.9m and a loss of £3m. I think they are the same as if you take Turnover at £7m and assume a £3m loss that would work backwards to expenses of £10m These were filed a couple of weeks ago, I need to update my spreadsheet.
Talks absolute nonsense, pure kidology going off. Talks about the squad being top 3/4 and data proving it, this is incorrect, go check our player data on opta, footmob whatever you like, Max watters X.G isn't even top 30 let alone highest XG. Talks about the money from Mads/kitching has been reinvested by using an example of bringing in 2 players on free transfers and paying them 5k a week with National insurance adding up to 300k per player per year, conveniently fails to mention that we'd no longer be paying the wages though of Mads and Kitchen any longer so if they were on 5k a week each you still haven't reinvented the transfer fees. Nothing more than a failed attempt at PR to drive ST sales, unfortunately he's tried to pull the wool and its done more damage than good.
I’m a bit late to the party here, but wow. Not in any way concerning that is it? - we have a top three/four squad - Mladen Sormaz is doing a good job - January wasn’t that bad - We will return to selling players this summer to balance the books - He’s intimating he’s not prepared to bankroll it anymore - He’s diplomatically and indirectly said they want to compete for promotion - but will be selling and aren’t going to sign any better players The STs will be flying off the shelves tonight, no doubt. We are selling the family silver this summer, Mladen is good and is staying. The coach appointment won’t make a jot of difference. This isn’t a good time to be a Barnsley supporter is it?
Even IF this was true (which I don’t think is either) about top players etc what he seems to also fail to understand is having the best players doesn’t automatically make a good team, look at PSG when they had Neymar, Messi, Mbappe etc. Interesting as well that in one breath he says our squad is as good as Wrexham etc and then talks about them spending millions in January.
So many things to pick out of that that others have mentioned. I’ve defended Neerav a little bit because of the funding that has gone into the club but that interview is crackers. Anyone that was in 2 minds about getting a season ticket before, I feel like this will have swayed them towards “no”. It’s all well and good banging the drum about DKD (who is great and our best player) but what about the majority of other signings that have mostly failed? For league position next season, we absolutely need to keep hold of DKD but I guess for the finances, he’ll be sold to the highest bidder and then Mladen will have scouted either a French second division winger or a centre mid from the MLS. Can’t wait.
He needs to put the club up for sale. We are going nowhere but backwards under his stewardship. A dark cloud has been cast over Oakwell this evening, it’s going to take years for us to recover.
As sang by the great Blazing Squad. "I'll see you in the conference, conference". "I'll see you in the conference, conference. Think we're doing fine".
I've been banging the drum about this lot since last summer and taken some right criticism on here. They need to put the club up for sale now and move on. If they don't then I can see a relegation battle next season. I can't believe they think Mladen is doing a good job. Jesus Christ we are ******.
I've already been contacted today to say that one of the season ticket holders I attend games with won't be going tomorrow as 'there is no enjoyment and after that interview there is no point either'. He also says that he has made his mind up not to buy a ticket next season. That's someone who's been going to Oakwell since before Neeravs parents were born nevermind him
It's a good point you've made on the Wrexham comparison. As you can see Max Watters with a 5.38 XG is nowhere near the top he's way down the list. Some ridiculous claims in that interview, complete denial of the situation.
So Connor is 100% the head coach next season regardless of the next 9 games and we are selling what we can. The crap he said about Sormaz is taking the piss. R.I.P Barnsley FC
Believe it when I see it. Some sensationalist comments on here tonight. We have got an under performing squad and there are players that have gone stale and want off loading. I'd sell Connell, Phillips and DKD if it meant a rebuild of the squad with five or six proven players.
It really does make you wonder what the hell he was thinking doesn't it' if there wasn't any need for concern before there sure as hell is now' an absolute train wreck of an interview.
He said Sormaz has been under financial constraints but Jesus the 3 players he signed in January. If he signed 1 in the correct position it would have cost the same as all 3 but at least he’s doing a good job.
He's hardly going to come out and say, " This season been crap. We're appointing a super duper new boss and spending money in the summer". You don't get rich giving it away. If you come out with big statements people take stock of what you're saying and you end up paying £1 million for one player instead of three at £333.3k. Maybe he's being the shrewd business man that made him a BILLIONAIRE? Just an observation.
That interview has done as much good for selling season tickets as Prince Andrew’s did for his public image.
