Come on Andy……How much has he paid you to write that?? I love your input on this by trying to look at things a bit differently, but for the first time I don’t see it the way you do. I’m was renewing my ST regardless, but for those who were 50/50, or thinking of packing it in…….that interview was seriously damaging and very disappointing to hear. It’s at a point where even im now questioning my decision.
Watters, Dallas, Shaw, Humphrys and Cosgrove have delivered a total of 21 goals in exchange for 11.5 years worth of contracts that's 598 weeks worth of wages, although other clubs will have paid contributions with their loan deals, plus 300k transfer fee for Watters, you not far off £2m for 21 goals. You'd think we'd learn but the soundbites from that interview suggest it will be more punts with some of the better players sold.
The old model of buying young hungry players worked really well for us under cryne the best times since the defeat to Ipswich. It wouldn't put me off buying a season ticket it's just harder to do now imo.
But he Isn't a billionaire he's looking after family Money I believe managing investments etc. So not really a business man if that's correct more of a fund manager. Yes he might be putting money into the club that doesn't mean he's not killing it with his and his minions incompetence.
No-one in L1 should be on 5k a week. It's why football is fecked. It's Chief Executive level money for kids with limited talent.
Regarding the comment on re-investing the mads and kitching money it was a complete gaff, he tried to justify it had been reinvested as gone on wages, he failed to mention that we'd be no longer be paying wages to mads and kitchen amongst a few who were on decent wages and still receiving big transfer fees, hardly reinvesting, Still paying 2 players wages whether that's mads and Liam or 2 others.
There isn't one they appear to be making it up as they go a long. Utterly useless wasting millions of pounds a year making things worse the longer they go on. I've mentioned on here several times when people having been pouring praise on the board for putting Millions in that they were covering their mistakes and it couldn't continue as they aren't wealthy enough to fund the club to that level long term and reading between the lines of that interview that time is worryingly close, with no sign that they know how to turn things round both on and off the pitch
He's taking the club down the toilet and is utterly deluded. If the DoF is doing their bidding and they think he is doing a good job they need to get the hell out of OUR club asap or I dread to think what will become of it.
What would you do differently? Yes I think he's got alot wrong but you were one of the biggest critics of the crynes using data in 2016 onwards probably our most successful time this century. What would you do differently? Get a manager in and bring his mates with him?
Come on Stephen, you can’t have any confidence in them replacing them 3 with quality can you? I think we would all accept that if we got 6 players of proven quality in & could balance the books at the same time but with their track record it’s fantasy land.
Crynes use of data wasn't the issue it was the dogma of trying to use only data and not signing anybody over 23 that was the problem The best signing under Cryne was probably the second signing of Adam Hammil who was over 23 and which wasn't a spreadsheet signing.. What would I do differently, easy sack the DoF he's bloody useless.
https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/31409/reds-chairman-answers-questions-on-various-topics INTEREST IN THE HEAD COACH POSITION More people want the job now than last summer? I find that hard to believe. The manager being paid until the summer do we think it's Edwards? Evatt? Warne? INTERIM BOSS CONOR HOURIHANE’S CHANCES How to say he's not getting the job, without saying it. I don't want him to get it either. Let him continue his coaching for now. DARRELL CLARKE’S SACKING He's off his rocker if he thinks we are THAT good. We are nowhere near a team of players good enough for automatic promotion. I don't give a damn about data. Data doesn't tell you what a person is like. People skills like being around the club, showing professionalism, being there for team mates etc. We might see an handful of the current squad in the Championship in years to come, I don't disagree. However right this minute they aren't Championship quality and that's all that matters. ON ONLY SIGNING ONE STRIKER, CLEMENT RODRIGUES, IN JANUARY He's obsessed with XG which is so subjective and not that important. He also made the signing of Rodrigues sound every bit as pointless as we know it was. Signed because he's a "body". I remember when we only used to sign people if they strengthened our starting 11. ON JANUARY IN GENERAL You're wrong. The window was a failure. I don't get why he's mentioning vast sums of money when our fan base don't expect that at Oakwell. I would have to politely disagree strongly again when he said we had a stronger side after the window. SPORTING DIRECTOR MLADEN SORMAZ Dunn is one player and Stevie Wonder could see with his goal scoring record over many seasons that he would be a good signing. It's unbelievable he thinks Sormaz has done a good job. It's worrying our biggest shareholder thinks this. I would have liked him to have mentioned why Sormaz won't do local press interviews. Why is he hiding away? NEXT SEASON’S BUDGET AND POSSIBLE SALES Sell our club. It's unacceptable we could lose £10 million this financial year. WTF are our owners playing at? He's also telling us we will sell assets in the summer so that makes us look desperate, so clubs will think they can get them cheaper than expected because we've shown our hand. I don't think the fans will be too pleased he's done a little threat about bankrolling us.
