None of the presenters can accept any criticism. They love callers who praise, it's a dead easy call, just agree with everything the caller says, roses in the garden, everyone is happy. Then as soon as anyone rings up and criticise any of our clubs the ‘shutters’ go straight up and they can get really aggressive. Admittedly, some callers struggle to make their point but there are also some very articulate fans that make some very valid and well argued criticisms. Radio Sheffield commentators daren’t side with them as they would risk falling out with the fan’s club itself which would impact on the commerciality of the station. It sort of makes the whole show pointless to a large extent.
Also they are very articulate. And have a 'stop' button. As a caller it's a fine line between standing your corner and giving them bait.
It was a good call and a very valid point. Maybe Sheffield Wednesday had no reason not to try to sign Sam winnall yesterday but Sam was a club employee and he should have had more respect than the attempt to take the focus away from Norman rimmington. If Wednesday were serious about wanting him they would have waited be tiny little day. As for the photo their excuse that they didn't release it is pathetic. The photo was taken by somebody employed by Sheffield Wednesday. NOBODY else could have possibly released that photo without them handing it to them in the first place so they have to take responsibility for it and it was piss poor.
I listened to your call and thought that they handled it very badly. You challenged, quite reasonably, and you looked to move things in but they wouldn't let it lie. As you say later in this thread it's a fine line as they have the stop button. I don't hols D with the opinion that they're biased but they certainly didn't treat you respectfully. They don't like being challenged. Well done you stunning ****
For the life of me I just can't understand why any Red listens to or contributes to the ***** they broadcast.
winnall ought to be ashamed of himself, especially after kissing the black armband worn in respect of a chap who epitomised loyalty, all this knowing full well that he had already been into the gaffers office asking for a move.i hope scowen or somebody smashes the lightweight ****.
