He has got a point though. There was 3 texts on Saturday from Barnsley fans saying they were happy because Wednesday had lost again. Honestly, when we're 10th in the league and 4 points off the play-offs, I couldn't care less what Wednesday do, personally.
Oh yes Helen..paired with a couple int chennels before game and a visit to chippy afta....it's a perfect day.. (feel a song coming on)
Well my hope is that when I get the shout from the Big lad upstairs & just as they are popping the lid on , the funeral director says " The Wendies have dropped to the conference " , then thats me going on the one way trip with a big smile on my face !
Each to their own like, but if it was me, you'd get a bigger smile on my face if they told me Barnsley had won the Champions League.
Couldn't give a toss what Wednesday do now. In fact i never check their score or uniteds now. Each to their own if it makes you happy
I went to Ecclesfield Grammar School between 1963 & 1968 , at that time both Sheffield clubs were in the top division & we were at the other end of the scale , now kids can be cruel & I had a torrid time , I got hate going to school , I was basically bullied because of where I came from & who I supported , Utd fans were not too bad but a group of Wednesday fans out of my school year were shocking with me , it got that bad that I would regularly lie about my health to my Mum to get out of going or wagging & staying elsewhere for the day & thus my hatred developed & although I would never let anything get to me when I grew ,up my lasting memories of my school life are horrible & every time they are having a bad time I think of certain individuals & enjoy the moment .
Mines not as bad as that, but I worked in an office with some Donny fans, this was during the period when they were climbing back up from the Conference and always got the better of us. All the goodwill and best wishes I gave them as they climbed into League 1 went out of the window after that. The comments ranged from general piss- take ( fair enough) but what really annoyed me was the nastiness they had towards us which often matched some of the personal comments towards me. It got to the stage where I got so angry and offered one of them outside into the car park. Which was a bad move really as it now made be the ‘bad guy’ I take genuine delight when anything happens that knocks them back
I sympathise with you , you spend a lot of your life at work & the last thing you need is extra hassle & stress , although its not uncommon but its not right .
Very painful listening. I quite literally turn the radio off when he’s on now Wensdeeeeehhh yeah Know what I mean yeah
Agree 100%. I may seem a bit odd but I can’t understand why there are those who have more interest in engaging in schadenfreude of other teams than the exploits of their own club.
