Down the aisle (or up the steps) was Shaggy - Angel I kid you not. We got married in the Caribbean. We had a mix CD to play as well when after we got married with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Al Green and all the staff were bopping to our tunes. We didn't really have a first dance song as we didn't have a reception or a family do when we got back.
Hollins - Trumpet Minuet for the aisle bit. Van M's 'Have I Told You Lately....' for the first "dance" (loosest sense of the word...) Then that utter **** Rod Stewart went and murdered it.
Same here. Not sure what the first dance was. I don't think it was as big a thing back in 1981. I know the birdie song was played a lot though.
Her walking into register office- Here comes the sun/ Beatles. While we were signing register- English Rose/The Jam. Walking out-Bring me sunshine/Morecambe & Wise. First dance- It must be love/Madness
Pachelbel's Canon in D major played by a delightful young lady on harp & Morcheeba - Rome Wasn't Built In A Day
We had Fireworks by Embrace, we love Embrace, saw them in Liverpool in may after new album came out, awesome. We also had Canon in D minor by Pachelbel down the aisle, embrace was first dance
My Dad was Scottish. Sadly he died before I got married, but his close friend piped me into church. And the two of us out again. He also did a piece with the Cajun Band we had at the reception - which was like nothing else I've ever seen. Think Scottish piper at a hoe-down. He also piped at my Dad's funeral. As you say, very moving.
