sorry I don't get that at all. how would including Scottish teams revamp the league cup? it would make the overall standard go down, not up
Ive thought that as well for a long time now, maybe revamping that tired competition into a British League cup. Although speaking of revamps, remember when they replaced the Full Members cup with the Anglo-Italian thing, which was absolute garbage.
Exeter v Inverness Caley Thistle on a wet Wednesday in October/November? It'll cost more to put the game on and travel expenses than clubs can make from the gate
Yeah thats what we thought when they first introduced it. But having to play group matches against Notts County and Grimsby in half empty stadiums, was a real drag.
With their current squads, they wouldn't. But if they were actually in the English leagues with the budget that comes with that they would, easily.
Religion and politics has no place in football. There are other places in which those views can be expressed.
It’s easy to take the piss but it’s part of a much bigger problem in Europe that the gap between the biggest leagues & the smaller ones is getting bigger & bigger. You can get well supported clubs from countries like Scotland, Greece, Turkey, Poland etc & they can’t do anything because they don’t have the budget to compete. There’s the odd exception where a club might develop a crop of good players in one go such as Ajax in 2019 but they go as soon as the offers come in & they’re back to square one. What Club Brugge are doing is outstanding but it won’t go on for longer than this season because they’ll lose their best players too.
