Our matchday recaps are definitely one of the best out there. I think I'm a bit long in the tooth for social media sometimes, my kids have to explain the nuances, it's a different generation.

Folk are upset about things, so everyone becomes a target. I get that.

Glad you appreciate our efforts, pal. We try our best.

why get involved, just report what you see in a neutral way as you did, its not your job to give opinions, "player x is garbage, bla bla bla", Monday morning " hello player x how are you and hello boss hope you enjoyed me running down our players reputations ", people need to think ,would they publicly criticise their place of work and people in it, answer no, because you would be soon down the road

I disagree completely. It's a slang term in this region for working hard, trying to improve.

There was hardly much choice for goal of the month and the U23s goal sounds like the best we scored, going off the description.

I found the Chelsea game jokes pretty funny to be honest. Then again I take football as entertainment, not anything more. You’re acting like they shat on your grave.

In 1979 we lost 7 nil against Reading.
Following the game Alan Clarke called a day to playing and concentrate solely on management.
He took his squad down Wooley colliery to show them what real work is.

And for the record I am not having a dig at you.

    I'm fed up.

I am giving an opinion on one Facebook post by BFC that I didn't agree with and appreciate.

We are having a disagreement and nothing more.

We make a video every month of all first team goals and any noteworthy goals in the other age groups. It's a harmless poll. It's a monthly award for a player. Same as the player poll. Which we've dedicated to Barnsley Hospice this season rather than making money from it with a cover sponsor.

If we don't score a goal one month, there'll be no vote. But otherwise, there always is. At every club I imagine. I don't see how that is winding anyone up, or insulting, as insinuated.

At Chelsea, we took a self-deprecating approach. It was a one-off cup tie against one of the game's giants. They won 4-0 against a fellow Premier League side today. When it became clear we were getting a beating, we took it on the chin. Our engagement rate was off the chart, we got a lot of traction from it. But I get it. It's not always going to be for everyone. We have a big audience.

But anyone expecting the 'club' media team to start tearing into the 'club' needs to give their head a shake.

Appreciate your reasoned thoughts as usual, BarnsleyReds.

Whilst I can sympathise with the OP's frustrations I have to say that whilst it totally annoys me to high heaven that the media team keep spinning that we have made four new first team signings when Ludewig is a renewed loan and Christie-Davies is nowhere near a first team signing (even Helik is just a replacement for a suspended player, but granted does count as one of our two signings), to me (along with the ticket office and other behind the scenes staff) they are one of the positive aspects of the club.

I think that beyond the Board, executives and coaches and players most if not all of the club employees are dedicated to it and strive, often above and beyond, to do the best for it.

Andy nobody in their right frame of mind should be blaming you and the media team including Beth...we all know how much you not only love your job and the club but how often you go the extra mile to help others often in your own time which is to be applauded and is very much appreciated...we also know how hurt and how protective you become if you feel someone is attacking the club needlessly. .......
I know from previous posts we sometimes dont see eye to eye on certain subjects .....
That said having read the posts previously I'd offer a little advice if I may......step back from the debate ....wear your official head at the moment ..theres too much emotional flack flying around for you to take an impartial view......instead and I know it's hard being a fan and working for the club you love and support not to want to kick back when you are doing your best and receiving unwarranted flack and accusations but resist .....

I for one remember which side of the fence you used to sit and your opinions when you didn't agree ....some of us have long memories and no doubt could still second guess what youd be saying if you were allowed without consequence now

If only Conway and co had the work ethic and ambition..of you beth and the media team...
I stand by my previous slating of the lot of them....conway and co in my opinion are an embarrassment not only to the club but the town and its folk too ..
Keep up the good work dont let the bug gers grind you down

    Completely agree.

The people much nearer the coal face are one of the few positives in this complete basket case of a club.

I await to hear that chesterfield have put in an offer for our match recap process and we no longer have the rights to follow it.

I think everyone is annoyed and upset now at what is basically a circus. One safe haven away from that is the people who actually work for the club and where the club is an important part of their lives; media team, marketing team, ticket office, office in general, etc. They’re the saving grace for me. The biggest connection we have to OUR Barnsley.

You can’t pick and choose when you run monthly social media campaigns. If they did, they’d be accused of hiding. And if the first team can’t score let’s use it as an opportunity to share the success of other levels.

I’ll never understand why people get so emotional. It’s literally entertainment. Insulting fans from other clubs, fighting with other fans, treating football like the most important thing I your life. The fact that domestic violence rates rise when England lose. The fact that people need have to drink to forget bad games.

I’ll never understand any of it. I enjoy seeing us win, but I’m not going to act like the world is ending when we lose a game, or if we get relegated. There are far more important things in life. Especially right now. Hell, even if the club went out of business permanently I wouldn’t shed a tear. My only thoughts would be for the hard-working staff at the club.

I sometimes wonder if I’m not wired up the same as half the people on here (and some folk on here I very much hope I’m not wired up the same as) because I’d never let football affect me negatively to the point that it would even enter into my personal life. Not sure if I just care less about football than half the people on here or if I’m just a more laid back person. I’d never in a million years miss a family event for a football match, for example, yet I’ve seen people post on here about their wives “dragging them to events and making them miss the game”. Surely the most important thing is family and loved ones? I don’t know if I have a warped view of home life because of the effort I had to put in to marry the woman of my dreams, who lived thousands of miles away or what. Maybe someone can explain.
