You make salient points. But disappearing into the ether again isn't the answer. And I'm not defending anything beyond my remit here buddy. Someone called out the media output and I've responded.
I can't lie, I have been thoroughly frustrated today, fed up, pIssed off, whatever. I cant remember being this f*cked off following a match. But there are two facts here: 1. The players are underperforming, things arent clicking, performances are below par and it is hard to watch. 2. Struber's future is unclear. He is likely leaving. The players must be unsettled as result. The fact you have received abusive messages purely because of your connection to the club is nothing short of disgusting. Your output is always professional, personable, and heartfelt. Everything you put out on the channels, and all the effort you put into responding to people on here shows you truly care about the club like the rest of us. Anyone who questions that, or has a go at you personally, particularly because of results on the pitch - something that is entirely beyond your control - seriously need to take a long hard look at themselves. It sounds like a fair few owe you an apology. Keep your head up pal and keep on doing what you're doing.
I think maybe it's a safe place to let out all your emotions in a way that kicking off at your friends and family wouldn't be. Agree about family coming first, I couldn't have a season ticket when the kids were around and needed taking to their interests.
Bit for many football is an important means of bonding with family. How many on here go to games with their brother, sister, mum or dad? How many of those can honestly say they would see that person as often if it wasn't for football? Football isn't just a bit of meaningless entertainment; to many it is something which brings with it a lifetime of memories and is a key foundation in relationships. I do not understand the fighting with other fans thing, I never will, but the heightened emotions when your team wins or loses, when your manager makes comments line struber has today or when you feel the owners are lying to you, that is perfectly understandable as it is having an effect on those relationships and those memories.
I agree, most people are. But it doesn't excuse the cretins who chose to target you. Absolutely no excuse for it. I'm sure you'll take it on the chin and put it down to passions running high or whatever, but it's bang out of order. The staff and the fans are the lifeblood of the club, and they need to remain as one.
It's a really tough period right now. Not just football, but in general. I've found this last seven months or so really challenging. We can only hope for positive change.
Everyone is different. And everyone is entitled to be. Some people don’t even like football at all. Some people it is life or death. Neither is a warped view of life, although I do often think people who never ‘have a team’ do miss out on knowing that feeling of complete ecstasy we sometimes feel. Similar to views on lockdown. Some are quite content to be at home most days, nearly all days even. Some can’t stand the thought of another week without human interaction and to be out there in the world again.
BUMP*** Whitey, did anyone from the media team consciously think about the statement that Murphy has stated about Ludewig? Do you think that is where we’re going now, treating a young player who’s done **** all wrong this season with no respect whatsoever. Refer back to the opening post. And you wonder why we all feel so out of the touch with the club now...
It's not on to call Whitey out like this, mate. We're all annoyed at that statement, but you're directing it in the wrong direction. He won't respond to this I assume and it's wrong to expect him to.
