Isn't the event opportunity simple about corporate events? That's how I read it. I am guessing there will be some corporate hospitality and branding tied together, but I don't see this being more than game day sponsorship. Might be wrong but the event day seems to by trying to attract interest.
I heard a story that on all ticket matches if someone ask for a ticket to the south stand they don't sell them one as true Barnsley fans still call it the ponty, not sure how true that is but seems plausible!
The emailshot is a bit like carpet bombing - few on ST mailing list would be businessmen wanting to buy into the corporate thingy, I suspect!
When clubs get a new stadium you expect a sponsor to come on board with naming rights. It's when clubs are still in their original 100 plus years old stadiums that you get the most resistance. The time will come pretty soon when the owner won't be able to resist a big chunk of money in return for putting a few new signs up.
Didn't you notice at the England under 21 game he'd managed to get the seats in the dugouts changed from reddy to whitey
Dunt matter to me as long as the club gets the money - 'The Agent Provocateur Oval' has a sort of ring to it.
