    He's still accountable to the Board for the day to day decisions he makes. The strategic focus of the board has now likely changed, so his autonomy will be focused towards a revised overall strategy (how big a revision this proves to be is something we'll not know for a while).

    It hopefully also frees him up to allow more of the transparency which he talked about on appointment, but which he's largely failed to deliver on until now, due to the likelihood that Conway and Lee refused to assist him in delivering this.
