used to play alongside Nicky Wroe for The Longbow back int day...

and had a few kick arounds with Ant Kay up int longbow field.

got to say nicky wroe was a lot better player when he was a kid playing at right back or on the right wing.

also went on the Barnsley trip to our twin town, Schwabisch Gmund as part of a sports exchange and steve agnew and paul (charlie) cross were platying for the junior side......they were great lads and always speak when i see them around...............

Was renting a lad at works house, in monk bretton until our house was built, and who came to buy the rented one but Brian Howard. Absolutley top bloke always speaks and goes out of his way to speak to me whenever I see him.

Also my mate at work, bought Kevin Betsy's house in Silkstone common said he was a good lad and let him have a big double fridge for nothing. He did claim that Paul Hart did not like him and had him training with kids.

Oh and another my dad's been connected with Middlesboro for years and I went up with him a few years ago, and got chatting to David Geddis, who was youth development at the time, I was awestruck especially when he told me he never wanted to leave us and was vertually told, BFC had accepted an offer from Brum and he would have to go.

Before I forget me and my mate shook hands with Sir Ronny Glavin in church (Holy Rood) at that bit where you have to turn round and offer each other the sign of peace, did,nt wash my hand for ages!

    A couple....

Many years ago I worked with Peter Shirtliff's sister, now I work with Peter Burkes sister (he played No.5 mid late 70's)

I know Frank Beaumont (52-66) and his son has played for BBS FC

I had dinner with Sasa Ilic and his Mrs.

Met Hristov, Krisan and Jovo a few times

Colgan & Ilic have coached my son

and.....at the Barnsley legends game against Bradford Brendan O'Connell borrowed my footie boots !
So I have been in the same changing room as all the legends cos I had to go get mi boots back !!!

Scored a penalty Vs Lars Lees

At a disability football session, all the kids & staff had a go. You could see the look on Lars Lees face - oh it's a bird, I don't need t o move - so I sent it in the bottom corner...whilst Dave Watson looked on & laughed. He bet me I couldn't do it again so I put it in exactly the same place.
