best post I probably seen on here. The jist about how we use modern technology like BBS to slag things at 17:00 on a Saturday rather than reflect and get on with it the following Saturday sums it up. I never complained in the late eighties early nineties when we seemed to finish near top of lower half most seasons. I don't complain now.

    No probs

I admire your passion but don't agree with all you say. However, if some of the players had your passion, maybe our results would be a tad better.

    Couldn't agree more.

When I started supporting this club, we were 3rd or 4th division, and even flirted with re-election (well slightly before my time), we survived those years and on that fantastic day in 1981 we returned to the 2nd division (where incidentally we have spent more seasons than any other club). Unfortunately I missed that day as I was in Spain on business. However, I was there at Oakwell in 1997 when we finally made it to the top flight - a day I'll never forget, nor will I forget the 2 Wembley appearances and the day at Cardiff. The latter 2 occasions being largely due to Patrick Cryne's involvement with the club in the aftermath of the near disaster a couple of years before. I am satisfied with our position at the moment, disappointed with individual results and performances of course, but happy in the knowledge that the club is being run properly and will prosper in the future. My only regret just now, is the lack of local players in the squad - remember that half the 1996/7 team were from Yorkshire and there were only 2 foreigners, where have they gone?
