    Exactly my thoughts.
If we are sticking with the model, he's the one that makes most sense.
I'd prefer Mick, but I would see the logic of an approach to him in relation to the spreadsheet.

I'm still unsure about how long a career in management the Cowley brothers will have. There have been numerous false messiahs over the last 20 years who have been the future of management but are no longer in the game. Sure they had a good FACup run last season, but are inconsistent in the League. It's obvious they have a high self belief and frequently rub some people up the wrong way with what is perceived as arrogance. They need at least another season if not more at Lincoln. Surprised no one has mentioned Paul Teasdale at Exeter; He has been mentored by Steve Perryman for most of his career. He is far more experienced than others mentioned.
I don't think Mick would leave his contract early, he would like to be honourable to Ipswich. I do accept the view that he would be a unifying and inspiring appointment at this difficult time. I would hate for him to end up being disparaged due to results though.
I think the Club will look to someone who has Coaching abilities and can play many systems and utilise the squad provided.Which I think it will be a Foriegn Coach. I don't mind this although I understand some supporters reservations.
Whoever the Coach is, it's important that the town continues to care for and support the Club.
