but new signings are now on long contracts and it is only Hecky's 2 full year, and 1 year in championship. He will know what`s required as a squad to compete at this level.. He can only ask for players he would like, then upper management have to decide. There is a pot of money from transfers, but the biggest stumbling block is our wages strategy-hence young players with something to prove, knowing that if they perform well, they will be given chance to be sold on.. It has worked well for us recently, but we are still a very young aged group. I.m.h.o it would now be a good time to get a couple of players with championship or higher experience over a few years, just to steady the ship and give leadership- remember the busby babes (showing my age now lol) but they had experienced players in key positions. B. Clough I think said the spine of a team is essential and I think it applies even now.
