    Ring the academy and they will tell you, but I know of one who was and one who is only just 15.

    Re your comment about Eddie Haigh. His name was on the team sheet as a substitute which I paid 20p for before the game. The lads face was new to me as he had not played in the two previous games. Naturally, I would not wish to upset the parents of Eddie Haigh if indeed he did not play. Please let me know the identity of the culprit so we can name and shame. It was an horrendous tackle designed to stop at all costs. My point was that the bench sould not have been condoning his behaviour.

    The reason that I state Yr1, Yr2 and Under 15 is my report is so that readers can judge for themselves based upon that information whether the team is young or old. I obviously do not know the age of the opposition players. This is important as last year I was chatting to a MK Dons parent before the game and was telling her that we only had a young team out that day. It turned out that their team was younger than ours and contained several under 16 players. This was one of Ronnie Bransons 3 victories BTW. Mark Stokes will be refering to Reuben Lazarus who is 15 I understand.

    re the academy is not a results based business.

    What will be the result come next April for youngsters aged 17 who are deemed not good enough to deserve a professional contract. The majority will be looking for work in another industry. If this is not results based then I would want to see a more cut throat business because there aren't many who reject the majority of the employees they take on at 16 after just 2 years. If you think that my comments are cruel, I trust that you will be there when these lads are told to pack their bags because their career is finished.
