    Italian for me, Montepulciano D'Abruzzo or Chianti. Aldi do both I think. I'd echo @mansfield_red no less than five and no more than a tenner (or £8 usually). Anything above a tenner would seem extravagant unless in a restaurant, and apparantly supermarket wine has got much better over the years (a certain @George Spicer may beg to differ).

    I’m prefer white myself and like a drop of 19 Crimes. It packs a punch as does the same label red.

    You’ll find it between £7-£9.
