    It's political because he gets the gig purely on his nationality, there are better refs still out there - refs who've performed better in this tournament - but he's been picked because it's in Germany and he's German and slightly better than the other German ref, who I think is 4th official.
    That's the way things work in UEFA and in FIFA, they're rotten to the core.

    I just feel better the Devil you know. You can plan around a dodgy ref. Don't dive in here, don't fall over there, go down there, play on in this instance etc. Players need to learn how to play refs better. You know who the niggly and corrupt refs are before every game. I don't believe for one second this is the only corrupt ref. Just the only one whose been caught recently.
