Anderson won comfortably despite many tipping Labour to beat him. So in Ashfield they massively underestimated the Reform vote & in Barnsley they massively overestimated it. Basically the exit polls are all over the place.
He's won Ashfield, which is clearly a made up place. Going to stay up for the elections for Narnia, Shangri-La and Purgatory and then go to bed.
Great night. The daylight between Lab & Reform lovely to see. The 'shy' Reformers pretty f.cking shy aka don't exist. Or can't be arsed. Either or, do for me.
I no longer live in Barnsley but many of my neighbours tell me how much they enjoy our new town centre in preference to Huddersfield. Not saying the Labour Council have always got it right in Barnsley but as a metaphor for urban renewal Starmer's Labour government could learn lots from what's happened in Barnsley.
One of the presenters on ITV said earlier in their program that unlike Farage & Tice he wasn’t expected to win so I assumed not. It could’ve been a mistake.
They've just taken Kilmarnock from the SNP in an unbelievable swing. Now they've got to do something. Make sure people have enough food to eat and a house would be a nice start.
