Huge difference between women playing in a mixed team with men and reffing a men’s game. Even women don’t want mixed sports. Shouldn’t even be in the argument really, as it’s not something that anyone is campaigning for. Most refs are well in their 40s. Are you genuinely saying women aren’t capable of being as physically fit as men in their 40s?

Personally think your comment is sexist. Maybe not intentionally and not malicious, but sexist nonetheless.

Sexist - “Showing prejudice, stereotyping or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex”

Actually there are female refs in both codes of Rugby - and at the highest level.

Who are you replying to? Not sure who's comment is sexist.

I new it straight away that someone would call me sexist ,thats why I said the tin hat comment & you could not be further from the truth , women do take part in mixed sports , tennis & badminton for example , what I meant was they would never be able to compete in athletics & basically today"s footballers are athletes , nothing sexist about my remarks at all but it is comments like yours against me that is slowly putting me off the BBS , you are simply not allowed to offer an alternative opinion without being accused of something or other, have a good xmas & good day , over & out.

Actually your post was by definition sexist. You stated that you didn’t think women would be able to keep up with the men’s game to referee it.
So your opinion was based solely on gender. Ie A woman can’t do it only a man can

I happen to disagree with you. My limited observations of female officials is they tend to be better than an average male. Almost certainly because they have to be better than their male peers to progress.

Watch her have a shocker on Boxing Day now I’ve said that.

Bloody hell, these days you can't even post something blatantly sexist without someone jumping on it and saying it's sexist. What's the world coming to?

It's nonsense to say the physical requirements exclude women from reffing men's games. Refs are far from elite athletes and I assume there are fitness standards they have to meet, so if the women can meet those standards what's the issue?

    Eh?

Most refs tend to be crap. Regardless of sexuality was just tarring then all with the same brush. Have a lovely Xmas eve.

I said I thought your comment was sexist, because by definition I think it was. we've been here a thousand times. you can say pretty much what you want. nobody has said you weren't allowed to say what you did. but I'm also allowed to do the same. you offered your opinion, I offered mine.

That ref today she wants to go down in the same category as the likes of Willard and Atkinson and Kettle. She should be reported for being so bad and wants demoting.

Give over, a penalty appeal she didn’t give and a couple of questionable free kicks.

She was fine apart from that.

Not even close to Willard. Connell would have been off before half time. She was very poor but I think we’ve had worse this season

The referee today was weak in my opinion and allowed the Accrington players to influence her decisions. Not one of her decisions was made because of her gender but in my opinion she just wasn't strong enough. Why stop a corner being taken to tell a defender not to foul the attacker, just let him carry on then penalise them?
On a better note I didn't hear any sexist chanting which given the way she performed was a minor miracle and I commend our fans for that!

Connell was very fortunate not to be sent off with that challenge just before half time.

This is the thing. She might eventually end up a good referee at the top level, who knows. No one can deny she had a shocker today though.
There’s a lot of talk about sexism on here tonight but by the same token it looks like she’s being fast tracked up the leagues because it suits a narrative.
Promotion up the leagues should be earned by good performances. It’s clearly not the case in this instance as she hasn’t reffed enough games yet to be properly judged.
