RE: NO don't damn the Club

    Sorry I forgot

Everything that comes out of Oakwell is the truth and no-one question that,
The way I seee it is , if Barnsley were keen to sign Nardiello, why wait until he was away with Wales to start contract negotiations? Why not offer a contract before hand , like Howard or Hassell? I may be mistaken , but it looks like they were not that keen anyway and have tried to get Nardiello on the cheap, by trying to make him sweat. I am getting rather cynical over the way BFC are going about things , but it is not always what it seems down at Oakwell.

    eh?

I said 'share', as in two sides to every story. I'm not just blaming the club, I'mjust asking the question what made him turn round on the M1? What factors made him change his mind?

My post was aimed at madmark.

If you were a business man could you trust man who tells you he is on his way to sign a contract and then after keeping you waiting half the day rings you up to say he's done business with some one else.

It would have been courteous for him to at least have reject the contract with us before he signed for QPR.

Why do we have to blame anybody re Nardi ?

Accept the club are not proactive enough when it comes to making in effect what are emotional young guys feel wanted.

Creative types like Nardi need to constantly feel valued and wanted.Alex Ferguson understands this . We dont. It does not fit the stereo type of a stoical Yorkshire man does it ?

Also Nardi does not like Barnsley as a town and although I love my roots , I appreciate why guys like him cannot settle there .

I agree he will go on to better things wherever he goes , like most of those reasonable to good players who leave BFC ( says alot about the coaching and management motivational skills for me ).

For me Nardi is an enigma. I will miss the creative ,great to watch instinctive goal scorer when he was in the mood to play like that - which he was for the most part , and also when playing for a contract.

I will not miss the Jekyll and Hyde character who on a bad day behaved like a baby throwing his toys out of the

    pram.

I wish him all the luck in the world and live in hope that we have a creative striker who can put bums on seats lined up .

OK I am an eternal optimist. How else can I be daft enough to support Barnsley for 40 yrs .( Hey Tina think this is an excuse for a celebration girl ! ! .Any ideas . We should do something different other than those pie and peas dishes ins the Exec lounge ).

Get yer thinking cap on girls for ideas.

    Nardiello's goals only.....

...got us up and kept us up within the context of certain important matches. Am not knocking him, or the vital contribution that he made in those games, but there were certain other players who sweated for the cause every game of either last season, the promotion season, or both (ie Howard, Togwell, Kay, Richards, Hassell) whose contributions to promotion and / or safety were just as significant as Nardiello's, but were not as much in the limelight, because they atcually performed for more than just a handful of high-profile games.

    not quite right,

it says he agreed terms, not agreed the contract. a verbal agreement can be enforced if both parties intend the agreement to be binding. the fact that bothparties intended him to sign, in the literal sense on monday, meant that neither expected the 'agreement' on friday to be a binding contract.

there are also some industry specific rules regarding contracts, in some, a verbal contract isnt binding, dont know if that applies to footy though.

It's hardly a dignified silence from Gordon

Most of his statement sounds like sour grapes. I don't think there was any need to portray Dan in the way that he has done.

    Oh aye?

Thought it was a statement of the facts as the club see it?

No doubt had they said nothing then the all the negativebairningbstards would be having a field day screaming for an explanation.

Dont see owt wrong in it missen.
