i think charlton wil lose. wigan and luton will draw. a win would keep us up. brentford more pressure on them. if we can press like last two games and pit chances away i believe we will win. ive been but negative during games but looking back we were gd against leeds and forest just didnt finish
What combinations of results will render our game irrelevant? I want to place a few ‘insurance’ bets, but need to make sure I have all the permutations covered.
Brentford should play completely different to forest. They came to not lose and just defended. Brentford will attack us and we will need to be on top of our game in all areas of the pitch. However, the fact that Brentford will be looking for the win will leave them open to the counter so we need to ensure that the numerous chances we will undoubtedly create are taken. This has the potential to be a very exciting and high scoring game of football.
All I ask is that we finish at least third bottom so I can hope a little while longer until the Independent Panel give Wednesday the correct points deduction to finish 21st.
Sadly we have had a days less rest than them. Not often Barnsley tend to ruin anyone’s party especially being the last game at their old ground etc.
I think it’ll be heroic failure. I can see us pulling off a brilliant victory but then going down on goal difference behind Charlton or Wigan
Yeah because we can only get to 49 and a point for Charlton would take them to 49 with a superior goal difference. If Charlton and Luton win it would be academic anyway no matter if we won. That's why I haven't lost any sleep over it.
I think if two of those results happen, we're down regardless of what we do. If only one, we're ok with a win.
It's the Charlton one. If they get a point we've had it because of goal difference. That said I think Luton will beat Blackburn.
I have us down to stay up on GD . Us Charlton and Luton all finishing on 49 Hopefully West Brom will get a couple of early goals and Brentford ease off for the play offs but that could also go against us with the Wigan game and Fulham do the same Whatever happens we have give ourselves the slimmest of chances
Actually I can remember a few that have gone our way - in relatively recent times we won away at Plymouth to secure safety I think we were saved the year Leeds went down by their defeat, Drew at Hudds to secure safety, Won at Wigan to secure a playoff place. The only really bad final day I can think of is the Derby away defeat. The previous 2 relegation's from the Championship we were down before the last day
My bad I have Charlton losing staying on 48. Quiet day at work and that many spreadsheets open looking at all eventualities lol
Problem is we need to beat Brentford and I am not at all confident we will - Im thinking a draw most likely with results elsewhere going against both of us making the game a bit redundant anyway
