Are they saying it is that blokes girlfriend? How on earth you can escape a police presence like that ill never know.
Go on then. Before they shot Lees killer you state it was years since the last shooting by police. What do you consider shooting?
According to wiki, the last time prior to the lee rigby scenario that a firearm was used in Britain excluding NI was 2011. In Northern Ireland police are armed at all times (which is understandable). I class shooting as in to cause serious harm to another person.
Well that's wrong because a bloke in Cheshire was shot dead by police 2012 and Lee rights killer was shot in early 2013. And that duggan bloke was shot in 2011. Oh and one was killed by a police gunman 4 months ago too. Hardly years is it
Can only go off the facts I've read. If that is the case I was wrong, but like I said I'm only stating what I've read off the Web.
So that's 2015, 2013, 2012 and 2011 There was that Brazilian on 05 Police have lethal firearms and use them when needed.. Fact! So sorry DarfieldRed your wrong
Well my figures were off the home office website. And wiki (which does list those killings) and other sources.
Good man, I agree though 1) not used enough 2) weapons not on show like everywhere else.. the simple act of carrying a high calibre rifle around would be enough deterant for some even if they had no rounds
Two different cases in 2008 too and one in 2007. There have been 8 fatal shootings since by British police since 2005. That obviously doesn't include rigbys killer who is one of the several people non fatally shot by police in the same period.
Just out of curiosity, what do you deem acceptable for the police to use firearms? IE terrorist attack... Do you believe if the government and MI5 had intelligence to suggest Mr so & so was on his way to a certain destination to cause destruction do you believe police should be given the right to shoot prior to him doing whatever it is he was going to do? Instead of arrest? I only ask this as it has been posted on a different forum I go on...
If innocent people have died in this atrocity then my heart goes out to the relatives and family of these people. RIP.
No you can't just go and shoot somebody because you think they are going to go and kill people. However I've no problem with armed police approaching a suspect and arresting them. At that point you assume they are armed and dealcwith them as you would any armed suspect which could potentially mean shooting them
Who gives a toss about football when this happens. Dreadful and hope the murdering Bast@rds have been killed.
My mate Pete has just retired to Devon from up here, he was a firearms office, carried a live gone at all times, including the Olympic Torch relay throughout Yorkshire.
