But isn't Victor too old for compensation now? I thought that was for players 23 and under? And I would have thought that doing such thing is more likely to block a transfer than speed one through.

The reason they've been offered contracts (and they haven't signed them yet) must surely be that we intend to have them in and around the squad?

under 24 not sure if that includes players 24.
Im abit shocked at it not really vic but palmer should have gone. The only reason i cant think of is the compensation.

That's what it looks like. Both have been with us enough years and not done it. Offering players who are failures new contracts looks the cheap option. Our club are not learning.

Agree with you on palmer, I’d have released him, I’d rather try and develop benson given he’s years left on his deal.

It’s not the start to reshaping the squad I was hoping for. Let’s hope we can somehow offload players like Schmidt, Leya Iseka, Cole and Thomas.

The only way this makes any sense, and compensation from a tribunal doesn't to me, is that we already know who, of our contracted players, are leaving. As in who we're going to sell.

We sell Morris and Woodrow and the forward line is very sparse, so we offer a contract to Victor because we can't afford to buy anyone and can't compete on wages for free transfers.

We sell Kane and Styles what we got in midfield? So we offer Palmer a deal because, well, see above.

Yeah you’re right. It’s his injuries that has hampered him. Otherwise a good, versatile, and internationally capped player.

Just too much of a risk within a small budget for next season.

Wish him all the best though.
