It’s not a case of offering a year. It’s taking the option of the extra year in his contract that we had when he signed. Not sure if there’s a deadline on exercising that option, as we did it with Collins, Williams and Andersen a while back.

 

Disagree with that made he tried his ******** off when he came on. Which is alot more than I can say about Russell who looked like he'd just learnt how to walk. I'd give him another year with an option for another year in our favour. he was one of our best players before he had that bad injury. Another plus Duff said he's a brilliant lad to have around the dressing room. Who else do we have that can run at a defence like he can.

I'd be surprised if he didn't stay given the chance. He's really grown on me this season but he can't last a full 90 minutes so I doubt anyone higher than us is going to offer him a 2 year deal.

Why would they when they have the homegrown youngster Patterson doing well for them in the championship already?

 

I'd let all those four go.. and if Wolfe hadn't broken his leg he'd have gone aswell.. tuff love, a business not a charity. Letting those go you may be able to knock a bid back for a first teamer. You can't keep everyone some have to be moved on.

Am I missing something with Benson? I’ve read a few people suggesting he’s injury prone. Hasn’t he only had 2 injuries all season? One yesterday & one earlier in the season when he lost his place to Phillips? I thought he’d been on the bench & fit to play throughout 2023

 

I'd still question his heart and desire. Did well very early on in the season but every time we bring him off the bench I still can't help but roll my eyes.

It was a good pass, but also showed a problem with Thomas, in that he has no confidence in front of goal. When the ball was played to him, was expecting him to take a touch and then shoot. But he immediately checked back.

 

Yes, I think he should have the confidence to shoot more, What I can say in this case would be that he'd have to hit it on his weaker right foot.
