Young Ackers out of contract too. Surely worth giving him another 12 months. Both him and Marshy to kick on next season.
I'd agree if we'd won on Monday. But as we're in L1 again I'd offer him another year for the following reasons: Early this season I thought he found his best form since joining us. We missed him during that period we couldn't score and it took us some time to find a different approach. He offers something different playing between the lines and we don't really have many ball carriers / dribblers. He hasn't had a run of games since coming back from his broken leg. He'll be better again after an injury free pre-season. Besides which, are we confident we can get someone better? Compare him to Josh Martin for example.
From The Athletic:- Every year, each club is required to upload their list of retained and released players to an online portal, before midnight on the third Saturday in May. In theory, this should cover the end of the league season, but those who play beyond that date, such as the play-off finalists, are given four days after their final games to file. Should a club fail to meet the deadline, they are given a fixed fine in the EFL.

I'd imagine the players out of contract are already well aware of whether they're to be retained or released. I'd expect something to be announced this week.
If they are told before hand there’s no wonder the lad from Coventry who missed was petrified as he would have known if he’s missed he’s was out of a job. Talk about pressure.
