everton in the 80's when they had sharp, reid and snivvlers kid brother. flemengo, 'cos zico played for 'em.
Strangely I look out for Wycombe Wanderers. I forget the name of it but in the early 90s when Martin O Neil was their manager in the conference I used to play as them all the time on a football manager game for the Atari. I remember you could put up your own advertising boards which would tell you how many weeks for and how much was being offered. That was advanced for like 20 years ago. They were always easy to get into the football league at the first attempt without having to even sign anyone. In the real world this little club ended up in league 1 and flirted with possibly making the play offs at one point. Due to playing as them on that game I just started to for real so hoping they get back into league one for next season.
boro and charlton dont know why, it maybe the underdog thing, but not against us and any fecker that does the deedahs
I had one for the PC where you could put up advertising boards. It's name also escapes me, but I think it was from 1999. Edit: Ultimate soccer manager 98, epic game. I always started with Scarborough for some reason.
Morecambe, season ticket holder there....used to be my small club but 5 years ago gained league status, Arsenal, best mate a s/t holder, PNE and Blackpool, used to go there a lot when i was too young to travel to barnsley, in scotland rangers
Crewe - particularly under Dario Gradi, managed them on FM and took them all the way to Premier league title. Hearts - For some reason when I was a kid we played a Scottish league on Subbuteo and I chose them. Man Utd - any team that pisses off Leeds fans so much can't be bad! Deportivo La Coruna - Way they came up into Spanish 1st division a few years ago when Sky had just started showing it Paris St Germain - One of the best games I've ever seen on TV was a 2nd leg Cup Winners Cup match against Real Madrid Sampdoria - just picked up on them when C4 showed Italian football
Celtic, family link, see them at least once a season. Valencia, been out there a few times, always go to a game.
Just realised I've mistakenly missed Ross County off my list, favouring them for the same reason as Inverness CT & Queen Of The South.
Burnley - my best mate from uni was a Burnley fan. He was sadly killed in a road accident outside the Leeds festival 3 years ago. We used to go to Burnley/Barnsley matches together, and his funeral was at Turf Moor. I couldn't face going to a BFC/Burnely came for the first couple of years, but they will always be close to my heart. Albion Rovers - my grandad was from Coatbridge York City - Went to York uni and live in the city now, 15 minutes walk from Bootham and go to the occasional game Liverpool and Everton - my dad went to Liverpool uni and would go and watch one one week and the other the next, his soft spot for them rubbed off on me
Southport - watched them a few times and known to me through business ("proper" Conference football) Juventus - no idea why.......maybe from watching Italian football on C4 in the 1990's?
Motherwell: Quite a few of my friends support Motherwell, who I met after putting a BFC shirt down outside Fir Park in memory of Phil O'Donnell who tragically died after collapsing during their 5-3 defeat at home to Dundee United. Seen them play in Europe a couple of times too. And the most entertaining game I ever attended was Motherwell 6-6 Hibernian a few years ago, couldn't believe my eyes. Hamilton Academical: Closest team to me, seen them play a few times, including in a cup final(which they lost) and I see Alex Neil, their captain, around town quite often, remember him?! Southampton: Spent the first 10 years of my life living down there, always had a small soft spot for them. Fortuna Dusseldorf: My brother-in-law's team, off to watch them play Stuttgart in February, always like to see them do well. Juventus: I have some very good Italian friends who are Juve fans, they sent me over a Juve scarf and in return I sent them a BFC one, would love to go and see them play one day.
Barcelona. From being a youngster, I've always watched Barcelona. I remember when Spanish football first started coming on Sky back in the day, and I used to tune in every week. The days of Luis Enrique, Patrick Kluivert, Guardiola et al. To this day, I still look out for their result (expecting a spanking scoreline, with one Lionel Messi to have his name on the scoresheet). I also keep track of their youth system and reserve sides, purely out of boredom at work sometimes...
I also look out for Luton due to having a mate who supports them. They hate Sheff U nearly as much as we do.
