    I f
i disagree there were many on both sides voting for other reasons the the actual subject as had been proved and documented .
I am of the opinion the MPs have messed up but because of their beliefs on both sides rather than incompetence .
Because they cannot agree then imo any deal being sought to ratify the discrepancies by putting back to the people should contain a are you sure you want to leave option .
If the leave campaign are afraid of this then it cements my belief that leaving may not be what the country really wants .

nowts been 'proved' as to why people voted, what has happened tho is the remain side in particular have seized on oppotunities such as that thick wazzok outside barnsley bus station and used it in their argument that the leave side were in general not fit enough to have made an informed decision,

the subject of a second referendum is a matter of principle for me,we were given a vote after months and months of campaigning where, whether you like it or not the remain side were given a huge boost by the governments own propaganda that was delivered to every single household at a cost upheld by the tax payer, we were told it was a once in a lifetime oppotunity and that the result would be implemented.. the question was leave or remain,it could not have been any clearer. the question of a second referendum is nothing to do with being scared of the outcome , a democratic vote took place and the result should be implemented.

Well I hadn't fully moved over at the time of the referendum but she's adamant it was the first thing the Irish picked up on and they repeatedly asked for the UK to discuss the issue with them and kept getting fobbed off.
Irish politics is a bit of a mystery to me, all the parties seem to blend into one another. She's no fan of Varadkar really so she's not defending his stance.
The bottom line is and will remain that the hard border is a problem of Britain's making, not Ireland's. How do you control your borders and stop the people you don't want entering the country if you don't have a hard border? The last thing Ireland wants is a hard border.

I'm not at the PC to check my info....but going from memory Enda Kenny and Cameron set up joint working parties between UK and Irish civil servants to sort the issue out...including adapting the Smart Borders2 electronic border project to suit, Kenny also put in place several internal measures ( just forgotten the details ) ....apparently Varadkar just pulled the plug on them when he took over from Kenny.

Your'e not wrong Tekky. I was once on holiday in Italy and we had Coach trips to visit Monte Casino,
Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. We had the same tour guide on all visits and he spoke fantastic English. In Capri, over our meal I got talking to him. He was extremely cynical about the EU and said that abandoning the Lira for the Euro,
was the biggest Con ever perpetrated on the Italian nation. He lived in Sorrento and said that the people in the
South of Italy were very much against the European Union and said that if the people were allowed a referendum he
was convinced that the majority would vote to leave.

Well the perception here is that Ireland kept asking for some top level discussions and were fobbed off with excuses and, finally, a junior civil servant.
The fact remains that people on the Brexit side are blaming Ireland for the hard border problem and it's total balls, the last thing they want is a hard border. The only requirement for a hard border is that of the brexiteers.

The rise of populism is across the world (including Europe). We are seeing the rebirth of naziism, again promoted as patriotism. It is getting very dangerous- it thrives on division & the blame game. Farage cosies up to Trump who promotes Drain the Swamp - the swamp? Make America great by getting rid of the Muslims & the Mexicans? Make Britain great by getting rid of the eu (& all the migrants) - they’re making us all look the wrong way - as we say at Oakwell, we are stronger together v the real enemy!

Come on Marlon. They fought at worst because they had no choice and at best because they loved and wanted to protect their family, values and country.
