Even though I am pro EU - it doesnt mean I think its perfect and this is an example of it being a long way from that. Its a stupid ill thought out ruling that will have a negative effect on lots of smaller companies and individuals - except those that provide VPN's of course

the eu are gradually taking away our liberties, soon it will become a criminal offence to criticise migration, watch the video 1 minute in. Criticising immigration imo is not hate speech, there is a difference

Rees-Mogg changed his mind but we can’t ?
He said the people voted to leave but Mays deal didn’t deliver and wouldn’t support it .but is now changing it .
If it doesn’t deliver Jacob and is offered to another vote then we should also be referred to see if we changed ours.

    It’s one of many.

Remind me again, where did you as a uk citizen sign up to and agree to this ruling?

By voting for your representative MEP as we do in Parliamentary elections .
We aren’t consulted on every motion or detail that’s why we vote for them to represent us and trust in their representation if they don’t deliver we vote someone else next time . That’s how our Democracy works .

I’m afraid that he is scared that brexit might not happen at all! They are rallying around her as a person who is sacrificing herself for the good of the country. After everything that they’ve said about her, it is a mind-blowing U-turn! Mogg & Boris have changed their minds but the country can’t ? It’s hypocrisy on a grand scale - it truly sickens me!

But according to him when May put the deal first time he said it wasn’t Brexit and that’s not what was voted for and it should be no deal .
If it’s not what the people voted for in his words then it should go back to the people .
It’s not just remainers who are interpreting the vote to their way of thinking .’

Our government pushed it and the UK is one of the biggest supporters of it. If you take out the UKIP contingent (who don't vote for anything), 80+% of our other MEPs supported it.

This directive though is not a trivial matter compared to say 5p bag charges.

Its a very serious piece of legislation that runs on a par with things like education taxes welfare reform etc as it can in theory affect everyone in some guise should it be implemented in the UK.

Can you show me which one of the MEPs in Barnsley had this down in their manifesto at the previous ballet box?

Youll struggle to find it as it wont exisit.

MEPs have little sway over a lot of legislation set out in strasbourg or brussells.

Their job is to say yay nay or offer amendments on legislation created by the EU commission.

Technically the commisson can over ride/ignore the Parliaments vote should they see fit.

    So rending them er useless.

Even though the UK gov. Has championed this act should it be enshrined in UK law by the Tories you can should you so wish vote for a party who wants to remove those restrictions from UK law.

Remind me again how I can vote to remove the EU presidents, the EU commission and so forth...

MEPs don’t have everything in their manifesto and neither do Parliamentarians .
You vote for your choice of MEP same as your MP to vote with their instinct on these matters and as I’ve explained above if your not happy with their performance you don’t vote next time .
I don’t know why your asking this tbh as that’s how our domestic democracy has worked for years so why you’d think everything that ever came up was in a manifesto is beyond me.
As I’ve explained you vote for your MeP they in turn on your behalf vote for the president etc just same as domestically you vote for your MP and if they get in govt vote for a leader who in turn appoints MPs govt positions.
This is basic knowledge of our democracy tbh.
As far as MEPs being useless and votes don’t count is wrong MEPs vote for most legislation and some are voted by heads of state or ratified by them .
The only people who say that MEPs votes are useless are mainly the ones who lost the debates/votes

    Ps
Keep returning MEPs such as Farage etc is pretty useless imo .

Can you remind me how I vote to remove the lords, you know those unelected ones who sit in the House of Lords, did I mention the ones who are unelected but approve the rules we have in this country?

As I said above, our UK elected Conservative government supported this, including Boris Johnson who was Foreign Secretary at the time it was drafted. The UK were leaders in designing the Copyright Directive, and it is meant to help protect the intellectual property rights of UK citizens. Our creative industry is a large industry and artists/publishers were losing out as a result of what it is intended to resolve. (PS The Labour party also supported it).

That doesn't mean I support it, think it is a good idea, or has been well implemented, but the vast majority of our elected representatives support it.
