Those not old enough, jesus wept. I have never heard that mentioned before whether it be local elections, general elections etc.
The legal age to vote is 18, to suggest it's wrong because somebody at 15 at the time didn't have a say is laughable at best.

In an election you choose a candidate. If elected they serve for a period of time and then stand for election again at which point you can change your mind. Not really the same thing is it ?

Didn't suggest changing it, just pointed out that they will be the ones that have to live with the consequences for their entire working lives.

That tends to suggest that Great Britons aren't too keen on the full EU continental harvest. We just want to cherry pick.

    Never heard that suggested before.

But the UK has cherry picked in the past by using its veto ?

Yes you can, here's an idea for you, respect the referendum result, see how it goes for a while and if you don't like it you can start a petition for another referendum, that's democracy.

    So I understand.

That's because we've never been fully committed to the EU project. We're a contrary lot.

That's why we ended up with a referendum, and all this bother.

In my opinion it will probably make little significant difference at the end of the day whether we're in or out.

I was sure at least that brexit would make our representatives more accountable, closer to home, with decisions made by those whom we recognised as the ones we voted for.

But now I know that when it boils down to it our parliament has either a process, or a cohort of MPs, or both, unfit for purpose.

Why would you want to take back control and give it to this lot?

On a different note I voted labour not independent. Democracy says they that have left the party should resign their post and invoke another election. One thing I do know about democracy it can be blown apart. (But I cant think of another alternative) eg As a pit top worker I was on relatively Poor wages compared to an underground worker. We weren’t able to influence the outcome of a pay ballot as we were in the minority. 10% of nowt is nowt. We were also shafted re the bonus schemes. Rich get richer, poor get poorer. And we call it democracy.

The point I am trying to make is that once we leave the Eu the terms of our membership end. The only referendum that could then take place is to apply to rejoin the eu. The eu could then stipulate terms such as the uk joining the euro as a condition of our readmission. It means if we leave we cannot just go straight back and in if we don’t like it.

If I have misunderstood you I apologise.

I can't agree more...why not 12...10....8....obviously there should also be a proxy vote for those yet to be born.

Why would you want to sign up to be as influential as a local council in a United States of Europe?

It's gone swimmingly in the last 3 years? :)

Also, as Dave says, the terms on which rejoining would occur would not be similar to those on which we would leave, ie we'd almost certainly have to join the Euro etc.

Respect the result of a fraudulent referendum? No thanks. We might well end up being forced to accept the result but that’s not the same thing.

I'm not sure why everyone is jumping on the how dare leave campaign spend like that. What we should also be questioning is why does the electoral commission and law of our land think it was acceptable for the remain campaign spending £9 million of taxpayers money promoting their case when the leave campaign were not entitled to the same.

Obviously because it was remain, they are exempt from dodgy dealing.

All those homes who had fear delivered by taxpayers money, that may have voted to leave but scared by our own government out of doing so. Scandalous really. Leave may have actually won by a far greater margin...

I have tried to sign the petition! The email has come through but, when I click on the link, it says “bad gateway” - it’s frustrating & feels that my signature isn’t wanted
