Been informed there could be the possibility of seeing a spitfire and a hurricane at some point today.

I am a member of my villages Facebook group.

I heard and saw it then posted it but cannot claim the photo as it was taken by an eagle eyed fellow member which i am very grateful for.

Id love to take the glory mate but sadly cannot however seeing a Lancaster twice in two days takes some beating.

The photo doesnt do it justice. Magnificent sight and also a magnificent sound.

Only could be topped if someone built a railway track at the back if my house for steam engines only and the Mallard and Flying Scotsman passed by.

Many years ago, on the 50th anniversary of the Dam Busters raid, a Lancaster flew over our village on it's way to the local reservoir (Ladybower?) where they'd originally practiced. They flew low over the playground where my then 6 year old son and all the other pupils were waiting. The pilot tipped the plane slightly, enabling all the crew to see the waving children. Naturally, all the crew returned the waves.
It's something my now 35 year old son has never forgotten.
