What we do for women eh!

I never fancied watch The Matrix as it just didn't appeal - not a big fan of sci-fi (some I do like)

Then I started seeing a lass who really loved it and couldn't believe I hadn't seen it so insisted I watched it, I was falling asleep.
When the 2nd came out I was with my most recent partner and she wanted to go see it so I gave in and went, thankfully for me, despite her liking the first she thought the 2nd was rubbish and they were just drawing it out so I was spared the 3rd! You can imagine my smug "told you so" look coming out of the cinema after that 2nd film!

The English Patient - only film I've fallen asleep during at the cinema!

I think what we have here is more a list of "Films other people liked but I didn't."

    p.s.

I very nearly didn't watch The Constant Gardener because so many people were comparing it with The English Patient....could have missed a good film there.

Its obvious nobody's seen @The Caretaker'

You watch it and nowt happens and your drawn into keeping watching it cos you cany understand why a film should go on and on without anything happening, In the end nowt does happen its one long load of twaddle (If you know what I mean) :D :D

Never seen the second. I like Sci-Fi in general and Cyberpunk stuff in particular so it was pretty much up my street...

I was subjected to The English Patient on many an occasion, unfortunately…

I hate it when you start watching a film and then you think somethings up here, nowt much is happening, there's bound to be some clever twist in a minute otherwise this film would never have been financed... and then nothing happens.

    Layer Cake

There are loads of films that I'm not interested in whatsoever and I don't mind them because you can't be into everything. But occassionally one comes along that annoys me so much that I feel furious that the pillocks who made it have wasted my time. No, not wasted... worse than that... I've paid to be riled.

Layer Cake is a film I hate with a vengeance. What a load of absolute sheet. They start the film by saying that gangsters aren't like the ones you see in films, they are business men. It then proceeds to show you them acting as businessmen. Well sorry... I'd rather watch the ones that you see in films. It's called escapism. Interesting characters... the cornerstone of good film-making. And then to really take the peace, the plot is ludicrous thus making a complete joke of the "real" portrayal they are claiming to give. If you're going to write a story, do _some_ research! I'm no drugs warlord ('onist guvnor) but even I know that ecstasy is a manufacturerd drug that is made in this country. Why would they smuggle it in from Amsterdam? And why would a big-wig top-of-the-pile ganglord pay £5M for one million pills? Do the maths! Utter nonsense! Oh, I was furious by the end. It seems any middle class to55er thinks they can make a Larnden gangster film these days. The arrogance of these film-makers!

    Van Damme Is Class

"Take your big stick, and your boyfriend, and go find a bus to catch" from Hard Target is one of the best one liners ever in movie history.

    RE: Geddis,

You need to get the Segal "Anthology" on DVD and get yourself cured of this illness.

The Pool ball in a sock scene is one of the classic movie scenes.
