Re: I know its all about opinions I wish I'd seen him. Wish I'd seen Taylor, and Harry Tufnell etc. At least I get to see Tom Kennedy.
Re: I know its all about opinions Watson; De Zeeuw, Howard, McCarthy; Glavin, Blanchflower, Hignett, Redfearn, Howard; Taylor, Clarke Off the top of my head. I'm an old git, but didn't see Blanchflower or Taylor. What do you say, BigLil? (No, don't agree that I'm an old git)
If we're talking Favourites XI Rather than Best XI, mine would be:- 1. Heinz Muller 2. Neil Cooper 3. David Booth 4. Ronnie Glavin 5. Mick McCarthy 6. Pat Howard 7. Mick Butler 8. Craig Hignett 9. Ashley Ward 10.Neil Redfearn 11.Paddy McCourt. For what it's worth, mate, I didn't see the likes of Johnny Steele, Danny Blanchflower, Cec McCormack, Eddie McMorran, Johnny Kelly (my late Father's favourite player, along with Ronnie Glavin), Arthur Kaye, Jimmy Baxter, Tommy Taylor.
Re: If we're talking Favourites XI Yes, I almost went with Muller myself. I remember the ginger haired left back Dave Booth. What a player!
Hard to pick the best two from that list. Not the greatest player we've ever had by far but Paul Reid is worth a mention for captaining us to promotion and for that Huddersfield Town goal. His career with us never recovered after getting sent off for using an elbow at Layer Road. Good day out though that.
