One time Heavy Weight Boxing Champion Leon Spinks who was one of the few fighters
to defeat the great Muhammad Ali, has died at the age of sixty seven, due to complications
caused by prostrate cancer and associated health problems as a result of his boxing
    career. RIP Leon.

Mike Tyson beat him in 87 or 88 and was huge at the time iirc in terms of tv audience .

Think it was Spinks last fight.

Far too easy to google stuff. Done it from memory so correct me if I'm wrong.

The first fight I really remember was Spinks v Ali, as a kid I was devastated Ali lost. Ali won the title back later that year.

I don’t think he ever fought Tyson, although I think Tyson fought his brother Michael Spinks, no relation to the more famous club secretary.
