I know we need to respect the wishes of the family but... ..it would be great if the funeral cortege could go via or even start from Oakwell and take a route through town so all BFC fans past and present could have an opportunity to pay their respects. It is one time I wish I was in Barnsley for a sad event. Sad sad news. It is a shame that he never got a National award in recognition of his commitment and dedication to Barnsley FC and to sport in general. Glad he got to see Premiership footy and the recent Wembley successes and Promotion though. Definitely think a stand should be named after him. RIP Norm Mr Barnsley!!
Don't mind admitting that this news has brought tears to my eyes. I met him when I worked at the club in 1985-87. Even back then he was considered "Mr BFC". Fantastic service to our club. Pleased that we had two Wembley wins in his lifetime RIP.
R.I.P. Norman Rimmo Rimmington , Barnsley Legend. It was a pleasure to know him. Will be greatly missed.
