Why do we always start with Conlon Give Danny a chance alongside Hayes or Richards, when Conlon starts our play is very predictable.
RE: Why do we always start with Conlon Last night, from the start, we booted the ball up field in air and hoped Conlon or Hayes would win it. They didn't but we did not change until they went off and Nads and Richards came on. We then changed immediately to passing out of defence and it all looked much better - even Colgan was rolling ball out to full backs. They all did it straight away - it was obviously planned. We should start like that in future. If nothing else it couldn't be much worse in terms of results than the hoof it up field tactics and at least it is prettier to watch.
RE: Why do we always start with Conlon Hayes and Nardy between them have the movement, pace and alertness in and around the box to create and score. Unless and until we sign a true 'battering ram' centre forward then they are our best combo imho. Most defenders in this league can't cope with pace and movement. A static centre forward trying to control the ball is a piece of piss for them.
I thought Ritchie started off o.k.until the game where he subbed Shuker to put Devaney in his position then subbed Devaney 10-15 mins later. (what was he thinking) His team selection for the Burnley game, if the club weren`t bothered about exiting the competition why didn`t he give Ryan Laight his debut to see how he performed. He also tried Richards and Nads together, but after going 3-0 down fetched on Hayes and Conlon WHY the game was over. After building confidence through good results against Forest, Gillingham and MK.Dons he then destroyed it by putting out a weakened team against Burnley.
IMO rotating players doesn`t breed confidence. Playing players out of position doesn`t breed confidence. Kay is a CM Hassel RB Austin RB Reid CM/CD Wroe out of his depth- depart.
