RE: Tykeman

I just think their is a sense of realism down there.

We were not promised box office players just a suggestion that we would push the boat out to try and sign them if we could but not at any expense. The future of the club is the most important thing. If you had xx amount of money to spend would you tell possible selling clubs who would demand more for their players or would you try and keep it as low key as possible?

I agree that an extra defender would be desirable but Atkinson has signed a new contract, these young players have to be given a chance otherwise what is the point in producing your own players? Him and Heslop may feature quite regularly but by all accounts both are very good players who need to be given a chance to see if they are up to it.

    No, it sounds reasonable

I've never been in a position where I will negotiate a contract, never will. Certainly not in the entertainment business where a lot of it is conducted in public and cretins like me have an interest in what happens. Maybe Ritchie is playing a few games, I don't know, but I would have thought we'd be trying to to tell Foster he's really wanted rather than claiming we couldn't give a stuff one way or another. But I don't know.

Only thing I know is that we do need cover at centre half and I would even go on to say that having only Reid, Kay and Foster would leave us with the absolute bare minimum of what is required for a 46+ game season.

    Here Here.

I do not know why Tykeman feels a need to single out people and respond in the way he does.

    We are all fans.

It's normal to worry about strengthening the team pre-season. It's bound to create discussion and worry when it is perceived by some that things aren't happening as they would like

We need strengthening at the back. I think ritchie appreciates that. some of his public statements last season seemed a bit contradictory at the time, but taking everything into consideration I think he'll sort it. If not immediately then later on.
